OK food but service was sloooow

Waited at least 30 minutes (I checked my watch) before any server came up to us and it was not that busy- I think it was just understaffed. Food decent except for burnt baby backs which I sent back, corn on the cob was not a whole corn- come on like its gold or something!

    Poor service!

Ordering from Virgils for corporate events is not recommended! The service is subpar. For whatever reason, the sides were delivered one hour late and without the BBQ! Apparently, the person who took our order for 15 "Pig-Outs" misplaced it and failed to add the BBQ to the order. The manager didn't repair the damage by either sending the food or not charging us for it. In fact, they pretended as though they were unaware of the problem and implied that we must have forgotten to place that part of the order. Perhaps the restaurant is better run, but he catering is severely lacking in organization, timeliness, accuracy and effective management.

Whoa baby - am I full...

This resturant offered up a tremendous amount of pork. I enjoyed the pulled pork and pork ribs, smothered in a deliciuosly barbeque sauce (just a hint of spiciness). The trainwreck fries were very good, but almost drowning in the ranch dressing. Though not cheap, the meal was very good.

    It was just soso

Usually I LOVE BBQ ribs here, it's the best rib joint around, but when my husband, and I took my Mom there for her birthday we were unhappy with everything. We all ordered ribs (which were dry...the meat I mean, not the type), plus when they came my Mom's sides, and mine were stone cold, so we sent them back...no biggie. Then my coffee came, and it tasted like slug on the bottom of the pot, so I sent THAT back too. Still, no biggie. The watress was very nice about it, so I wasn't upset. Our trouble, or maybe I should say theirs, started when our waitress had to leave, and another one took over for her. She totally ignored us, and everytime we tried to get her attention she kept walking by. We were sitting there for 30 minutes, and finally we got up to leave, and pay the bill ourselves (the waiters take the checks), and THEN she walked over with our bill. We sat back down, and it took her anOTHER 15 minutes to TAKE the bill! We missed our train home because of her! We had to wait 45 minutes for the next one to come, so my husband stiffed her! I told him to do it because I used to be a waitress, and if I did that I would have been stiffed too! I expect to get the service that I gave. I know things can be busy there, but on that day, and time it wasn't! The first waitress would have gotten a big tip (15% of our bill, and we didn't have drinks, would have been $15.45, and we tip 20% if the service is good), but the second one? She blew it big time, and we told them so before we left!

    Not just for tourists!

My boyfriend and I love coming here during the afternoon and sitting at the bar for apps and cockails in big mason jars (go easy!). Get the trashcan fries--- great fries with cheese, ranch dressing, jalapenos, and other nacho-type toppings.

    Worth the money!

The food was great. I made reservations for 10 people and everyone was happy with their selection. Everyone was sooo happy to be getting a doggy bag. I would recommend Virgil's and we are looking to eat there again.

    A life saver

After walking all day 'doing the sites' Virgil's was a great place to relax, have a beer and some of the best BBQ I've ever eaten.
