It's a welcomed place on upper west! With a wine bar that has been in the hood for a longer time a mere 1 block away, these guys have established themselves in their own niche and the can cohabitate. Jill is the best bartender/songstress on Thursdays there! We go for her and the Rioja :)

This is not your normal hummas and babaganoush place- there are so many creative and delish things on the menu- I am trying to taste them all. I don't eat meat but my friends and family raved about the lamb chops and chicken kebabs- for me....the leek pancakes, fatoush salad....boreakas....blintzes were all amazing....perfect! Its small plates so its a good place to go and share so you can taste a bunch of things- The service was nice and unrushed and they were very nice to me with my service dog (compared to Busceo 95 who had the nerve to challenge me- and dismiss me when I told him I had bone cancer- which I do!) I promise if you go there once you will want to go back for more- and more. I even got take out from there twice this week alone! Go and enjoy!

Good riddance old sushi place and welcome cozy, friendly and yummy wine bar + delicious eats. The service was great, the staff friendly, and the food very fresh and delicious. Last week was my first time of what I hope will be many.

I went to Vino Levantino for the first time this past weekend, and it was empty. But they welcomed me with the friendliest attention and conversation. As I waited for my friend, I amiably talked with the owner and bartender. They were so welcoming -- and not just because I was the first customer of the evening. My friend arrived, and little by little the bar filled up. By the time we left, there was a nice buzz in the room but still blessedly a place where you could hold a conversation. The design is beautiful and warm, without tables crowding each other. The tapas-like portions of the bar menu were perfect. We had the cheese platter. Delicious. Everyone gets a cup of lemon and dill peppered chick peas for a wine snack. I am planning to go back often, and am even bringing about 20 work colleagues in February just for a fun evening of drinking, eating, and fun. Perfect wine bar.
