Unfortunate but necessary
This restaurant was great when it first opened, then the service got the better of them. It is unfortunate since the place started off on good footing. There was clear demand, and the menu was great. The management couldn't bring or train the team to be respectful and courteous. I believe it's this staff that brought down the restaurant. Too bad since this was a great opportunity for a successful business otherwise...

I knew it all along
When Vinegar Hill first opened we thought "wow" somewhere to buy good quality food options, but we noticed right from the start that the customer service was lacking and the employees had a bad attitude, it seems that Vinegar Hill's owners decided to go the way of the "locals" who they hired, these people clearly had a problem serving customers who had a different taste in food then the average residents of the surrounding community, unfortunately Vinegar Hill just gave in to the neighborhood instead of trying uplift and diversify it...

Used to be good.
...and something changed drastically. Delivery took forever and food was not a good as when they first opened. Used to order a lot, but finally it got so bad that we threw the menu away. Too bad.

Pretty good, pretty quick
I have had good experiences getting good food delivered quickly. The service has been friendly and courteous. The pizza is not very good (a little thin and soggy) but the sandwiches and salads are great. Overall, a nice place to get a good meal in the neighborhood.

What happened to Vinegar Hill?!
This place used to be consistently great. Unfortunately, over the past 6 months, that has changed. Delivery takes forever, the people on the phone are rude, abrupt, and keep you on hold so long that half the time it's easier to hang up and call back later, and the pizza has gone up in price and gone down in quality. They used to have delicious pizza with a crisp crust and quality cheese. Now the pizza is so soggy I wonder if the crust was even cooked. They were the only game in town for so long that unfortunately, rather than remain as such, they have now decided to reward their customers with mediocrity and disappointment. Judging by the other reviews, I'm not the only one who feels this way. If their owners ever read this, they should know their new business plan that clearly does not emphasize quality or customer service is LOSING them business. Get it together, Vinegar Hill.

Who doesn't have what's on the menu?
Vinegar Hill, that's who! And no delivery until 11AM on a Sunday morning.

Disappointed but consistent
So Vinegar Hill is consistent in its ability to disappoint, but it doesn't care that you have issue with this so it remains solid in its delivery of a mediocre product. The phone service is nearly 100% discourteous, rushed, outright rude and neglectful. The menu is reliably undependable. If the menu says you could have a spinach salad with tomatoes and onions, you can nearly 100% guarantee they will have neither but offer you instead to select a romaine lettuce with anchovies and peppers. And if you order a pizza, be sure to request light on the salt or else prepared for your pizza to be dry as a smoked fish. It is time someone else open a proper gourmet takeout shop in the neighborhood! Any takers?
