Yesterday when I called to order, I was rushed by the receptionist. I had asked if they sold spring rolls and the abrupt reply was yes. I then requested two spring rolls with the rest of my order. The food arrived within half an hour. Satisfactory. The delivery man asked to see my credit card, which I retrieved. He then handed me a blank sheet of paper and asked me to write down the CC number. Sketchy. I replied, "you can just check the receipt for the the last four digits, the card and my ID if you want. He insisted that I write down the CC number on this blank paper. More sketchy. I refused. Then he handed me the receipt. Never asking for ID. I signed it and gave a $3.00 tip. The food, placed within one plastic paper formation was not passed over. Delivery man demands a 10% tip -$8.00. WTF! He then pulls out his mobile and pretends to call someone. No one ANSWERS. He shoves the food and receipt at me and leaves. Upon opening the paper-plastic formation and reviewing the receipt I realized the receptionist did not understand me. None English speaking. She gave me six spring rolls, instead of two. Maybe she understood two orders instead of two spring rolls. I was charged for all six. The food was decent, reasonable, and the portions were short of generous. Don't plan on ordering take-out from here again!

I really want Thai style red curry. I've never had any type of curry that was so horrible. Most Thai curries I've had have coconut milk, unless otherwise specified. This was more like a very gingery, garlic, tamarind sauce. Waste of money!

I got take-out so I cant speak to the restuarant but the food was pretty bad. I got pad thai chicken which I figured is a pretty safe dish for a Thai restuarant. The chicken was low quality (still had the skin on, was really fatty) and the noodles didn't even have the pad thai sauce on them. It (though didn't taste like pad thai sauce) came in a little container and you had to pour it on.

So far, Vine is the only place in the area with decent sushi, but, as said by others, the service is unpleasant. Waiters and delivery guy have complained about tips, but seriously, who wants to tip for such lousy service?!?!

I completely agree with the reviews that delivery guy is rude. I hope the management reads this. He comes and I give him $2+ tip every time and he always looks at it like he expects more and then huffs away. No thank you. Very, very rude. I used to deliver food and I was always happy with a $2.50 tip (most people gave me a dollar). But sushi is really good, so if you can deal with him it's worth it. I have definitely ordered from other restaurants for the sole reason that the delivery guy is rude.

I don't have much experience with Japanese food, but i thought the california rolls were very good. They have bento boxes as well, but felt like it would be too much so i just ordered california rolls. There is alot of "crab" meat in the roll and the rice is not quite as sticky as it usually is, so it tasted good. However, the service is annoying. they filled my water glass around 20 times, as i took a sip they poured. It is this sort of overly dedicated service that i find tiring. Secondly, the guy would never get our oder straight. it took forever to explain that i just wanted the california rolls. I was asked: do you want seaweed with that? how about some rice? are you sure you don't want a bento box? Another thing that annoys me is that they don't do separate checks. I'm not sure if they are just consciencious and don't want to waste receipt paper, or if they have no idea how to manipulate the cash register. Overall the waiters are just too annoying for me to bother dealing with them on multiple occasions.

When I heard a new Japanese restaurant was replacing the old Cafe Swish, I was happy. Cafe Swish was a very average restaurant that lasted as long as it did because of its location right across Columbia Campus. Unfortunately, Vine is much worse than Cafe Swish. The selection is narrower, the chef is mediocre, and even the bubble tea is gone. To make matters worse, they kept the same delivery guys, who are consistently rude and unpleasant to deal with.
