Glad I gave it another chance
Great, healthy food for your money. I was here a few years ago, and must have ordered the wrong thing for me. Got stuck last night, no where to go but there, thought, oh, worth another try. Thrilled! Fresh, lots of vegetables, even fish. Yeah! Left full and happy. Moving to the West Village. I'll definitely be a regular.

My new favorate restaurant!
This restaurant is fast becoming my favorate village restaurant. I've been here 3 times and all 3 times the food was excellent. Last time I went with a group of friends and everyone enjoyed their meal. The spinach and mushroom salad with tahini dressing is awesome !

Consistent quality
I've been going to Village Natural for close to 1o years now and the food has been consistently good since my first visit. I'm not a vegetarian, but I never "miss the meat" here. Very tasty and hearty dishes.

Great Black Bean Burger!
I love this place for delivery. The people who answer the phone are not looking to get off the phone as soon as possible and the food is always fresh. Everyone should try the Black Bean Burger! It is simply delicious. We also order the soy cutlet parmigian with spagettin and it is very tasty. The portions are great also.

uninspired
The food was OK (nothing special, but ok enough), but the veggie burgers are just heated up morningstar farms frozen patties and the rest of the fake meat seems to be the same - I can do that myself!

long-time favorite veggie restaurant
I have been dining here for years and it's my favorite vegetarian place - am surprised at the bad reviews. Everything I've eaten here has been fresh and delicious, portions huge, and a terrific value. For $13 I got two delicious veggie parm cutlets with melted cheese on a pile of artichoke spaghetti, with a big side of steamed broccoli, a garden salad, and a whole wheat pita. That's an excellent value for Manhattan. I have taken many carnivores here and they all loved it, especially the breakfast items, veggie cutlet parm, the falafel platter, the fish entrees, and all the desserts are just superb. Service has always been spot-on and the waiters are helpful and friendly. I find the atmosphere cozy. So it's in a basement, who cares? It's a warm, well-light atmosphere with comfortable booths and two window tables. Don't be put off by the bad reviews, this is one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Manhattan.

Good, but...
I love health food and lots of vegetarian/vegan options, and this place was... meh. The starter pita bread and salad were totally delicious and fresh, but my entree was just OK and would have been great if not for the inedble vegan soy chicken. I got the zen platter - crisp steamed veggies, brown rice, and tofu... all of these ingredients were great. BUT the soy chicken tasted like the smell of the grand central bathroom stalls. I tried to like it. I really, really did. I ate like 4 pieces. I dunked it in every sauce I could fine - still no good. My friend got couscous with shrimp and it was just alright. So I am going to assume that most things here are pretty delicious (I was envious of another table's choices, the veggie burgers look AWESOME)... as long as you avoid the vegan soy chicken. At. all. costs.
