I have sent 20 or more people to eat at Victors since I first discovered this gem a few years back. Since I live in Alaska, I don't get a lot of cuban food, so it is always my food stop when I come to NYC every year. This year I am bringing a small group of 4 to eat when we come in May. My taste buds are already warming themselves up. The service is always the best too and don't forget to have a Mojito in the bar before or after the meal; they are awesome. In three words: THE ABSOLUTE BEST.

I was looking for good Cuban and had read the reviews online. I wa optimistic, but a little worried, due to the restaurant's location in the heart of the theater district. I think my friend's had the same concern - the location is PRIME for a tourist trap, but this is FAR from anything even remotely close to one. This is GOOD food! No - it's GREAT food! It's a few months since I've been, but I was thinking about it because yesterday my friend asked me what my favorite restaurant in New York was, and my boyfriend and I both thought of Victor's. He said it was bar-none the BEST black bean soup he'd ever had. EVERYTHING was DELICIOUS!

Had dinner a Victor's on 11/08/05. Was a pleasant surprise and would certainly require another visit. You should arrive fairly early because a relaxed dinner will require about 90 minutes. The staff is ever present but not intrusive. Courses are served at a leisurely pace, allowing my wife and I the opportunity to talk and enjoy the moment. We both selected the fish...(salmon/red snapper) and of course demanded a taste of each others meal...each of us thinking that we would order the same thing again. Had hoped to see some spicey dishes but saw few. At any rate it was a very nice experience offered by a restaurant in the Theater Zone.

We went to Victor's with a japanese family who wanted to try cuban food. They loved it and were surprised that cubans ate so much white rice. We had lobster, shrimps, vaca frita, ropa vieja & red snapper, in other words we tried just about everything and all was delicious and made with genuine cuban flavor. The place was packed with customers but the service was still prompt, friendly and courteous. If anyone wants cuban food in New York this is the place to go to. Don't forget to try the sangria.

Had dinner here with a coworker the other night and it was AMAZING! The Mojitos are strong, but they are great. The Sangria was also very tasty (a pitcher is a better value and you WILL drink it). The ceviche was an explosion of flavor, and the Florida Red Snapper was great.

I love this place, the food is delicious, one of the best Cuban food restaurants I've ever been. They have a great variety of food, I can't think of anything that is not good. It gets busy around start time of shows. Excellent place to go before your theater engagement. I highly recommend it.

We took friends out to dinner at Victor's (and Carnegie Hall afterwards for Lewis Black) and hoped it would be a special and memorable evening. It was. The food was delicious, well prepared, service very attentive, and the "vibe" a lively and upscale one. The Mojitos were awesome-VERY strong, though, and after just one we were all feeling very happy! I've been to Victor's twice before and loved it. I am half Cuban, so know the cuisine well, and from Philly, so have eaten at both of the Cuban choices in our town. They pale next to Victor's. I highly recommend trying this marvelous place!
