Dessert Scam
I passed by this restaurant with my boyfriend and we decided to give it a try. The food was excellent and the service was wonderful...until dessert time. We were stuffed beyond belief from the delicious food when the waiter came over with a platter of dessert - freshly cut slices of cake, fruit, etc. and offers us a dessert from the platter. I choose the bowl of fruit and reach to grab it off the platter when he tells me "no, this is only for show, let me get you a fresh cup." He comes back to our table with a fresh cup of fruit (literally one cup's worth) and whipped cream on the side. When he brought over the platter of dessert, it made me think that anything on the tray is free/sample. What he should've done was asked how the meal was and ask if we want dessert or want to see the dessert menu, not offer you dessert making you think you were getting something free. The best part, this one cup's worth of fruit cost $10...seriously?

Much improved
"cash only" has been revoked for 2 yrs now. That alone makes a difference for me. The staff was very attentive. The menu has good variety as it should. All dishes got great reviews for taste and presentation. Yes the prices aren't cheap but really, how many good italian restaurants in ny are!

Don't go there hungry
12 noodles in my Rigatoni Siciliana for $21.50; are you kidding me?? If I wasn't with a client, I would have said something but I will never go back there.

Expensive and CASH ONLY
Good food, but very expensive and only CASH. Will recommend if you dont mind spending 150 dollars for a dinner for two and willing to pay it in CASH.

Quality Every Time
Our family has enjoyed Vico for the past 3 years. Every meal has been delicious and our kids (10, 13 and 15) are more excited about dining at Vico's than anywhere else in the City. Yes, the prices are high, but the quality and love in the food and service makes it worthwhile.

Not worth it
We recently moved to the neighborhood and decided to give Vico a try last night during the week. Service was unremarkable and the food was decent, but nothing special. But for such a high price? Not worth it. I expect more for $25 dishes of pasta and $36 fish. I had a sublime meal at Sfoglia last week for about the same price and can't wait to go back. Vico, not so much. Nonetheless, Vico always has people in it, so clearly plenty of people are willing to pay up.
