Viand Exploits Madison Avenue
The Viand experience is to be missed in person or via delivery. Pricing is over the top. One fried egg on toast with one piece of charred up bacon $5.50 plus tip for delivery. Their turkey is not "real." I forget what it's called but I ate the same type at my brother's country club. It's pre-patched, not freshly cooked or carved. Because they give a hefty sandwich doesn't mean it's good. If you want to hold on to your wallet and, often, dignity, stay out of Viand on 61 and Madison.

Outrageously expensive for what u get
The food is good. But eggs are just eggs. $5.35 for 2 eggs, toast and home fries? Pllllllease!! Can't afford it more than twice a year.

Excellent
This is one of my very favorite restaurants. The "hole in the wall" atmosphere is perfectmaking you feel as if you have known the staff all your life. I give it the highest it can get in all catagories. It is New York at its best and it cannot be missed.

Loud, Overpriced, Expensive
What's the deal? Average food (except for the freshly roasted turkey) in a deafening, crowded, aggravating hole in the wall. Prices are offensively high -- and made more ironic by the beggar in the wheelchair who has been stationed outside for as long as I can remember...

NYC at its best!
A NYC classic. Yelling waiters, hot smoking grill, coffee and eggs being tossed onto plates in a few seconds! I literally had two eggs, homefries, toast and coffee in 30 seconds! Great service no BS food at a decent price. A bit pricey but hey, you are in the heart of Manhattan. You want cheap, go to a fast food joint.

Best Turkey in the Western Hemisphere
Viand is not much to look at, but they serve the best turkey sandwich I have ever tasted. Yes it is more expensive than other diners, but only by a couple of bucks and it is well worth it. They roast their own turkey in the back of the tiny kitchen. And the owner is so funny that he alone is worth the price of admission.
