Been here several times out of desperation, and following Zagat's advice. Overpriced, typical NY diner, which is to say, slop food doled out by cooks who take no pride in their work, and servers who want to divorce themselves from their product as much as possible. All the good reviews of here only reflect a low standard of eater the joint caters to. If you're reeeeally hungry, it's reeeeally late, and you don't have anything in the fridge, sure, it'll work. If you want good diner food, head to NJ.

This place is a gem! I had been trying to find something that was 24 hours that would deliver to E 96th street. I have eaten there 3 or 4 times in person since, and ordered delivery many times. Burgers are good, pancakes are delicious, milkshakes good too. I haven't had a bad meal yet.

I've been on the Upper East Side now for the past 3 years, and although we have tons of great places to choose from during normal business hours, our 24-hour delivary options are scarce. If you're anything like me (4am tuna craving) you need to keep Viand in your cell phone address log... possibly on speed dial. It's my Go-To 24 hour place and it doesn't disappoint. Plus the overnight staff is super friendly and the food comes quick. (Before you fall back to sleep and miss the buzzer going off...) Enjoy!

I'm not sure wether I had starved myself to death or the food really did taste good. I loved the pancakes. It was awesome. I loved the potatoes. I didn't really understand what the waiter said but I did get my order so I didn't care at the time. The service was alright.

I've been here many many many times and food is always consistant. Try their breakfasts and salads. Good stuff.

Who doesn't love a good flapjack? Viand has hands down the best pancakes in the world! They taste like cake batter and even sweeter and fluffier with syrup. We also love the atmosphere and hearing the waiters shout our order into the microphone, what a system! We first stumbled upon Viand during the Blizzard of '03, and we have been a repeat customer ever since. It's convenient and delicious and we are going to miss going there when we move out of the neighborhood next month. Special shout out to the hot open faced turkey sandwich, deeeeeeeelicious!

Eat at Viand. It's an awkward name for a diner (vee-and?), but the food can't be beat. Don't get me wrong: it's nothing more than your standard diner fare. But when it comes to speedy service with a smile, and a tasty, fairly-priced meal, Viand's got it in spades. I read another review that raved about their grilled cheese. I couldn't agree more. Also, they serve a lemonade drinks like a dessert, and their coffee and pie make a great combination. I'd stay clear of the last page of the menu. The entrees tend to get a bit over-priced for what they're worth. So just stick to the basics. Whether you're coming home from a late night out or you want a solid breakfast to start your day, Viand's the place.
