A True Gem
First off, disregard the negative reviews below. This place is a true gem. I've been here several times, and each time I've had excellent service, wonderful food, and a great value. I'm Italian, and the first time I came with my aunts and mom and had a great meal. Tonight I brought both my parents, and we started with a bottle of red and calamari. Perfectly cooked with a delicate red sauce. My parents has salads, I had the minestrone. I had pasta, which was the perfect amount, and my parents both had veal. The sides of pasta and veggies were perfectly cooked and well prepared, unlike how at some restaurants sides are an afterthought. We had coffee and desert after. The meal was timed perfectly. They even offered us complimentary after dinner drinks. If you are looking for delicious authentic food in midtown, this is a great place.

disappointing experience
We ordered risotto we got rice with terrible sauce. It taste like nothing. We were charged 90 dollars. When we complained they don't understand us.

Frozen Pizzas
Very bad experience! We were looking for a pizza place and stopped by the Via Italia. Guy at the door got us in by telling that they have pizza. We were served with two frozen pizzas which were customized with few salami slices and some vegetables. The taste was very poor and we were charged 50$ (2 frozen pizzas + water). A good place would have spine to say that they don't have pizza rather than selling frozen ones.

A happy find
Oct 10 2010. looked at menu outside and was invited in for dinner. It was a very good choice. My wife and I had an excellent meal. I had rissoto pesctore, almost all callamari. She had a large piece of veal parmagian. Service was very good and the prices equal to Vancouver Canada for the meal. this place can not be beat.

Wonderful find
After going to a matinee at an off Broadway theater my friend and I stumbled up0n this restaurant after having had drinks nearby. The service was excellent, great food and wine and and overall very pleasant experience. We are looking forward to returning again soon to this lovely restaurant. Excellent, I will certainly recommend this restaurant to my friends.

Nice time!
Went there for lunch, the staff was charming, the decor was fine, my salad was delicious as was my chicken parm. Good wine selection also.

Disappointing Food, Scary service
Went there with the missus for lunch. Ordered Calamari Fritti for 11 bucks only to be disappointed by 20 pieces of frozen calamari that had been microwaved. Penne alla vodka was subpar and tasted more like simple mac and cheese, all the chicken breasts were thinly smashed down and very dry. The complimentary bread was not freshly baked. Service was okay, albeit close to harassment.
