What is going on?
had the Raviolacci wth sweet potatoes with speck, golden raisins, leeks.. that is how it is described on their menu, it was a flop and the entree size was miniscule. The service was just awful and the food so sweet, all sweet.. it was terrible. And the wines, plunk for that price?

Nice restaurant
I don't complain at all about the service which was all right . As Europeans we were expecting Italians but saw only Spanish staff. The food was all right The wine was overpriced but I suppose this is normal for the US. THis restaurant was recommended by our guide Le Guiide du Routard New York and we were not disappointed

Not Uva but close
I love Uva, a UES italian restaurant nearby, but this is a great contender for it. I had the beet salad and the spagetti squash and shrimp dish. my boyfriend had the proscuitto and mozz and another pasta dish. all delicious. prices very fair. we sat outside which is very cute. wouldnt necessarily go in the winter, not as nice inside the restaurant as it is to sit in their cute outdoor area. definitely worth going but uva will always have my heart. service also not that good but the food saves it.

Used to be great place, but not anymore....
I have been to Vespa many times before it went to downhill. The service isn't good anymore, and the waiter actually called our group "mother f*@*ers" in spanish because we asked for more bread. It was insulting because I guess he thinks no one would understand. The food is not good at all, at least for the price. I will say that it is a very charming place. Just went down hill. Kind of sad.

What happened here??
Me and my boyfriend have been coming here for years, havent been there since december though and have to say am shocked about all the changes. The food ordered was mediocre at best, the host/owner?/bartender seems to be running the show now and does not know what he is doing. We ordered what was supposed to be skirt steak, but was in fact not when it came-and then told "let me ask the kitchen" so the waiter comes back and says "oh yes it is in fact not skirt steak the kitchen ran out" so instead of telling us, they tried to pull a switch-When im spending money on a meal, i dont expect to be swindled. I remember the old owners which i dont think are now, they made this place a great hotspot. Im not one to complain, i know im not getting smith and wollensky steak here but it used to be good. It seems to have become yet another italian restaurant on the UES and its a shame

If only the service would improve
The food (espically the handmade pasta dishes) is delicious. The service on the other hand....terrible!!!
