Veselka

Had a very traditional Ukranian dinner plate loaded with a variety of sausage, pierogies, kraut and a giant bowl of the most delicious bortscht I have ever tasted. The staff is friendly and attentive.

I had breakfast at Veselka the morning after I moved to New York. I can see it from my bedroom window so it seemed like an obvious choice. Ever since I've had a certain affinity for the place. Sometimes I've been given discounted coffee by the friendly staff. They're quite chatty, and the clientele are pretty cool in general (obviously)! I don't know about anyone else, but their coffee tastes a little different to practically any other I've had in the city - is it some kind of Ukrainian blend?

I have been going to Veselka a few times each week. The blintzes are amazing and the daily specials are always interesting and delicious. I feel like it's one of the best values around!

Great for brunch- especially the challah french toast. But I was not impressed with the dessert.

i haven't tried the main courses here, but i have been eating the muffins and desserts here for years. they are so good! definitely some of the best in the city. they have a wide variety to choose from, and they are reasonably priced.

Their butternut squash perogies were amazing--the order was very plentiful. The waffle was freshly made--and the challah french toast was also very delicious. Delivery was very speedy. We will definitely order from here again.

I love their soups.. All homemade, from own stock.. very tasty soups of the day [watermelon soup!].. Atmosphere gives you the idea that this stuff is always prepared fresh, nearly transparent kitchen, wide and airy dining, I always feel comfortable there. One of those places I finally decided to go into, since when are corner bistros in New York ever good? Anyway, the waitstaff there is always cordial, and hard working, plus great times, open late... Try the vegetable soup and borscht, and some perogies. Great desserts too!
