Wasted Money
Stopped for lunch at 12:30 and the palce was almost empty. Should have obeyed our instincts!..Waited 25 minutes for "soft scrambled eggs with smoked fish and caramelized onions." The eggs were overcooked and dry, the smoked fish consisted of 3 dime size disks in the eggs and there were no onions. This was $15.00!..We also had very salted smoked salmon with poached eggs, potato pancakes and spinach. The pancakes had been cook ed in old oil-so you can imagine the taste of that dish. Skip!

Happily surprised
We didn't know what to expect, but will say that , we were excited throughout the entire visit. a very creative signature cocktail list in a beautiful restaurant, with a really friendly knowledgeable server, and a modern creative version of the traditional Veselka that we all love, made us four very happy campers.

Expensive and unsuprising
They have finally opened, and I stopped in for lunch one day only to find a commercial variety almost exact to the other Veselka (a few blocks up 2nd avenue). Looks like people agree because it seems empty whenever I pass by

Now they are open…
Would like to see what the take-out is like. Went here for drinks to check it out. Lot's of interesting vodkas and cocktails and nice spot to hang out without any of the regular attitude you would get otherwise (in the vicinity). Great open space, so even though the restaurant was full it didn't feel like they were cramming you in.
