This place is AMAZING! Though the line can be a bit of a pain on the weekends, it's well worth it. They have the most incredibly delicious display of cakes. I've only tried a few so far, but they're very light and fresh unlike other bakeries that pack their desserts with chocolate and frosting. My boyfriend who was never a dessert fan now requests a little something from here if I'm ever in the neighborhood. DEFINITELY a must-try!

I was disappointed with the pastries at this place. I have heard so much about it and I must say that it is simply ok. I'll admit that growing up in Brooklyn has made me an Italian Pastry snob, so maybe I was expecting too much. However, I can think of many place where the pastries are just as good if not better. On a positive note, they are reasonably priced and the atmosphere is really nice.

I've been coming here for years -- they have the perfect cannoli filling, amazing cheesecake, marzipan/apricot cake (don't remember the proper name), small fruit tarts, baba o rum, sicilian cheesecake, everything --- you can't go wrong

I've come here several times and all the desserts are great! The black and white chocolate mousse cake and chocolate truffle cakes are awesome for chocolate lovers... It does get busy in the evenings so the best choice is to head out in the afternoon.

Best coffee in NYC - no sweetener or milk needed! Stick with the mini pastries - the cannoli are the best.

My parents have been going to Veneiro's for over 50 years. Now that I live in New York and they don't, I'm always picking up a box of cannolis, etc. for when I visit. The ricotta filling is superb, creamy, rich, satisfying, flavorful and the pastry crust is usually outstanding too. Get the chocolate dipped ones if you plan to keep them in the fridge for a couple days as plain ones get a little soggy. However, avoid the chocolate filled ones and especially avoid the frozen ones with crackery cardboard crusts that come in the kits (usually sold by ten-pack with filling on the side). Sure there are other desserts, most of them delicious. The eclair is good with their ricotta filling, though i usually prefer custard. The tarts are all wonderful, and I have a taste for their ricotta cheesecake, despite my family being prejudiced against it in favor of cream cheesecakes (Junior's in particular). Make sure you take a ticket right away if they're busy, otherwise you can walk up and order. The service can be short and not-so-sweet, but they always pack everything up well for the road. Prices are very reasonable too.
