Vegetarian's Paradise 2
Posted by Anonymous on 09/03/2007
My vegetarian friend took me here and promised me I would like it. Man, was he right! I couldn't tell that the salt and pepper chicken tenders weren't real chicken (the dipping sauce is SO good), and the mango chicken is TO DIE FOR! I order it every time I go. I actually crave this food, and I'm a meat-eater. I took my non-veg family here when they came to visit, and they're still raving about it months later. I admit, some things are only ok, but a lot are fantastic. Try the mango chicken. Right now!!

This place is awesome. I went tonight and it was sooo good. If you go, you MUST try the "World Famous Crispy Soul Chicken"... yes, it's as good as everyone says it is!!! The peking duck and the rolls are also good, as are the scallion pancakes. TWO THUMBS UP!

I swear I'm moving to NYC so I can eat here every day. If you go, and you miss shrimp as much as I do, you have to try the coconut shrimp. Oh my god I almost cried it was so good. It was the last place we went before leaving the city and I took another order to go and ate it on the plane. If you are a veggie, this is a must . . . try . . . the. . . shrimp!!!!

I've been a vegetarian for almost 20 years and in all that time I've never eaten at such a great place (excluding the all-veg Indian restaurant in Edison NJ). Because I live on the Jersey Shore, all-vegetarian restaurants are few and very far between and nothing like Vegetarian's Paradise. The name doesn't do it justice! It should be Vegetarian's All Out Fantastic Paradise! I took a non-veg friend there last summer and she's still raving about it to this day! We're going back in 2 weeks and I'm bringing my kids who claim they don't like vegetarian food. Well, if this restaurant doesn't change their minds, nothing will. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK. SEE YA SOON!!

I've visited Veg Paradise 2 a bunch of times. Yes, the atmoshpere isn't so great..bland, uninteresting. But the food is unbelievably delicious...so delicious that you dont even notice where you are sitting! Also, the people who work there are very nice. I live a bit outside of their quite large delivery area, yet they still go out of their way to keep delivering to me...and still don't even add on a delivery fee. The portions are quite large, and great value for the price. I've towed some carnivores along to the restaurant, and they honestly were in shock that the "chicken" and "beef" were really not from an animal. They said it tasted as good, if not better, than real meat. My favorite dishes are the salt & pepper chicken tenders, spinach dumplings, Mongolian Pepper Steak, and Sesame soy chicken with broccoli. I wasn't a fan of their soup, the spare ribs, or their "turkey" dishes. But I really enjoy the Texas Fried Chicken. However, you have to be careful about your ordering...a lot of their food is fried. And although the fried chicken is quite yummy, you can end up ordering food you didnt realize is fried..and then have an entire fried oily meal, with few vegetables. Words they use on their menu like "crunchy" and "breaded" are often fried dishes. I always want to try everything on their menu, but never have enough room in my stomach to do so...I guess I will just have to keep going back.

I had always walked by this place and finally I tried it with my friend. We ordered the Soul Chicken and almost ate the plate it sat on it was so good. Then I got the Spinach Dumplings and gobbled those delicious babies down. I didn't eat all of them ONLY so I could save room for dessert. I had a Banana Split and inhaled the thing. It was an awesome culinary experience. OK, so the atmosphere is lacking, but if you want to go to a place for atmosphere, go to Friday's. This place is the real deal and I highly recommend it. I give it 5 thumbs up.

You should try the Crispy Seol Chicken, Roll Sampler and Portabello Fritters as far as the appetizer category goes. The Hawaiian Chicken and Peking Spare Ribs are excellent entrees. The food is great. Nas eas eating there one of the times I've gone there.
