Overpriced
Service: You have to ask for everything - Looks like they're understaffed. Food: Nothings special, although I did like the sesame beef. The portions are rather small. You can count the pieces of meat on your plate to come about to $1.50-2.00 per piece. (e.g. for $12 you get 8 shrimps) Atmosphere: Nice. You pay for the decor. Value: I would never go again. To pay that price just for the decor, so-so food & less-than-average service is ridiculous.

Feel good food!
I absolutely love the food here. Crab Cakes, Steak Frites, Viet Steak sandwich, Curry Stew are just a few things I enjoy ordering there. The prices are a bit expensive but you are eating in Tribeca after all. I don't order out b/c I've seen how busy & packed this place gets during lunch hour. I give it two thumbs up!

not worth the poor service
After eating at Viet cafe and enjoying the food but detesting the lazy and bothered to be working service I decided to order in. Mistake again. Go to Viet Cafe if you want to pay 24 dollars for 7 pieces of duck fat and then battle it out on the phone with the woman that runs the place.

Delivery takestoo long
The food is great but come on! Forty five minutes late for an order when you've had over an hour's notice?? Unacceptable. They did apologize but didn't offer any compensation for my inconvenience.

Pretty darn good...
So far am just eating the Sweet Sausage Fried Rice with Eggs and Scallions (reminiscent of Fried Rice made for Chinese New Year) ($6) and its absolutely delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant was welcoming and open and they seemed to have some pretty decent drink specials...I'm working late and may have to stop by some other day for a happy hour. VietCafe is a definite welcome break from the delis and pizzerias of Tribeca.

De-lish!
This is top notch food, bar none... i don't know the tribeca area too well, was a recommendation from a friend, definitely worth a trip! I'm veg, and was surprised at the variety and how good it was... was with a friend who had the duck and he said it was awesome, so something for everyone! I'll be back!

Absurdly overpriced for what it is
The food here okay -- tasty, but small portions. I wouldn't mind the quality if their prices were lowered to half of what they are. As things stand, Vietcafe is overpriced for what you get. I live just around the corner, and I love Vietnamese food, but I just won't come here anymore until they either improve the food or lower the prices.
