Wish They Sold Booze
Great place. I come all the way from Mineola just to eat here. I just wish they sold booze.

Great Value, Quality OK
I wish I could have given all 5 stars, though value did receive 5 stars. The dumplings were fine, but the vegetable fillings were just OK. Sesame pancake was tasty, but again just so-so for the vegetable filling. Will report back on other items in the future. The prices are so cheap, I don't mind some misses to find a winner.

$7.50
Can't beat a soup, sandwich and an order of dumplings for $7.50. Was it the best soup, sandy and dumpling I have ever had? No. Although they hit the spot.

Underwhelming.
Waited way too long for an order of overly dough-y vegetable dumplings. The filling was good, but I literally felt like I was chewing through uncooked dough. It was also served in a takeout container even though we were staying to eat. It was very awkward to eat out of and made me feel rushed to get out of the restaurant. the service was also very poor, as we waited a long time for a simple order of dumplings even though we were one of the first guests to put out order in. I should had stayed with the Plump Dumpling, who never fails me, right thee on 11th street, but wanted to try something new. Same prices, better service and quality than Vanessas Dumplings.

Amazing boiled dumplings!
The boiled dumplings at this Vanessa's and at the Eldridge location are the best I have ever had in my life! Vegetarians will be happy with the vegetarian pancake sandwiches otherwise try the roast pork pancake sandwich which is less than $4 and to die for! I take all my friends to Vanessa's because it proves that you can live in NY for less and have a wonderful time. I like to check out the stylish people who go to the Eldridge location, while the Vanessa's on 14th has more student/NYU feel.

No bad for quick and cheap.
I ordered delivery and the guy was super friendly and helpful so I really wanted to like this place... The veggie dumplings were alright, shrimp boiled dumplings were very watery on the inside, and the spicy tuna roll seemed like it was picked up at one of those deli's that starts selling sushi for half-off after 5. I won't be ordering again.
