it's new
to the previous poster - they just remodeled it and it looks a heck of a lot better. i don't know where you have been for the last 2 years, but this place is actually decent now.

GROSS
I've been coming to Vandam Diner for the past 2 years, I work in the same building and usually don't buy anything more than a bagel... This place is dated and needs serious updates. The food is so so. I just feel the ambiance of the place is dirty/lack luster leads me to not want to eat here. I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like!!

Great place for Catering!
Relaxing atmosphere in the mornings and afternoons, and mostly busy during lunch. Food is Fresh, and great quality for the buck. Service is prompt, and with a smile! They are great at catering our breakfast meetings. Awesome second dining room, hidden in the back... Great for functions, and private parties!!

Typical Diner
Its a diner. Plain and simple. Not 5 star cuisine. but not a trailer on the side of the road either. simply put it is like every other diner in new york city and new jersey.

So bad
for the three years i've worked in the building the service has been consistently rude and slow and the food is bad. everyone in my office feels the same way: avoid if at all possible!

Consistent diner food
I work near Vandam Diner. I've always been pleased with their consistent food and quick service. It's a greasy spoon, but there are a few healthy options on the menu. And they'll give you a surprisingly good cappuccino if you ask. Oh, and they have an ATM if you forget your cash.
