Despite other folks- I've always had a great experience here. I love the fried chicken sandwich, which is colossal and almost everything else I've tried on the menu. Surprisingly the sweet potato gnocchi are one of my favs, as is the tomato soup with goat cheese. All of their salads are awesome, and their homemade ranch and hot sauce are yum! The only thing I ever have ordered that I didn't like was their version of a hot toddy. Their service is dope, and I think a good addition to the hood.

When this place first opened I ate here all the time, but for the past few months I have been going to lobo. I literally just left this hellhole. The food took ten forevers to come out, but that was not the worst part. The worst part was the taste, what happened to this place the "bbq" pork was missing the bbq. It actually tasted sour and the look and taste of the mac and cheese was just disappointing. I want to take it back but my first reaction was to dump it, it was actually making me nauseous. To think I was going to ask if they catered party. I wouldn't have a friend left. I am heading to lobo now where the food NEVER let's me down. I want my time and money back. No wonder I was the only fool sitting there. Close that place down.

I love Van Horn. I have lived in the neighborhood for many years, and have seen a number of restaurants fail in that space. Van Horn is different- they have a great menu, with creative twists on old classics. I've always found everything cooked and prepared perfectly. The atmosphere is casual and unassuming, like the food, and the owner is friendly and welcoming.

I am always in search for a good pulled pork sandwich so we tried out Van Horn. It was ok, a little dry with way too much coleslaw on top. The chicken sanwich was good but not great. The mac & cheese is kinda weird, they use large pasta shells that have to be cut so you can eat them. Service was very good. I would stop by again if i was in the 'hood but would not go out of my way to return.

Been twice and abosutly love everything about this place. Can't wait for the back deck to open. Went once for lunch, pulled pork sandwhich was great. Once for dinner, amazing pimenton grilled cheese, killer tomato soup. Max and cheese is legit too. Great beer and whiskey selection. Highly reccomend.

Myself and a group of friends stopped in for a sandwich and a beer a few weeks back and can't wait to go again. The menu is very authentic and they don't skimp on quality ingredients, from the bread for the sandwiches to the marinade for the pulled pork. The fried chicken sandwich is out of this world! Between the 5 of us we ordered everything on the menu and really enjoyed it all. We also really appreciated the beer selection which is small but very well thought out. This place is small but pristinely managed - the service is attentive, the food is great.

I had the Sweet PLT, which is like a vegetarian BLT made with smoked sweet potato that is thin and crisp, with garlic aioli. It was delicious although a little small and not too filling. My dad had the fried catfish which was also really good. The sweet tea was good, too. Would definitely go back, although the prices are a tad high for the portion sizes.
