Went here with my husband on a whim the other day, living in hipster land I find the lack of good Mexican food very disappointing. Well nothing here was disappointing, we shared chicken flautas, mahi mahi soft tacos and pork enchiladas in a salsa verde sauce. Wow can't say enough good things about all 3 dishes, flatuas were crispy not at all greasy and full of meat, drizzled with crema and had a side of guacamole and a mango radish cabbage. Fish tacos were packed full of fish and a radish cabbage onion type slaw they def did not skimp on the fillings. And the enchiladas were packed with pork, really spicy but not in that numbing can't taste anything else but heat way. Only complaint is the place isn't that well ventilated the table next to us had fajitas when they came I couldn't even see my husband that's how sizzling they were. But once they opened the door and aired the place out I seen that sizzling platter and the smell alone was enough to make my mouth water even though I just stuffed my face. Best part of the meal? The price. For 3 dishes 1 margarita and a beer came to $43. T get great portions of great tasting food for a great price you cant go wrong with this place!!

I grew up in border towns and since coming to NYC it has been rough trying to find some good Mexican food. This place is consistently good across the board, though they definetly turn on the heat. I can take a lot, but there dished can get really spicey. Love the tamales, the guacamole, even the burgers are great.

I'm a transplant here from DFW & these are some of the best margaritas I've ever had (sorry, Mom). The salsa is the really good homemade kind with big chunks of jalapeño and onions (they even have a fiery orange salsa if you ask). My cheese chile rellenos were the egg batter variety with a great ranchero sauce on top. It was a touch on the mushy side but that didn't keep them from being delicious. I can't wait to try the enchiladas and flautas the next time I'm in Brooklyn.

Tacos, Tamales, Salads, Nachos, Salsas, Guacamole & Tostadas. Everything I just listed is excellent here. The dinner seafood entrees have been have been surprisingly delicious and fresh, as well. And I had a burger there the other day, not knowing what to expect, and it was freggin' delicious. The burritos are a little heavy, I think because the tortilla wrap used is really huge and doughy--I would share a burrito with someone and get a salad, but they taste great. I think I'm used to california-style burritos ;) You really can't go wrong eating here. The owners and wait-staff are delightful. The prices are very reasonable. And even the breakfast here is totally delicious. For an inexpensive traditional mexican restaurant, this place is exactly where you want to eat. Nothing fancy, but nothing short of delicious.

I've only ordered takeout from Vamos, but every time it's been absolutely deliciousm delivered within 30 minutes and still hot when it arrives. This is a nice change from Papacitos, which doesn't arrive for almost an hour and is usually cold by the time it does. The Mexican Pizza is fresh, filling, and flavorful, and my husband swears by the Burrito Pinto. The Corn Soup is perhaps one of the most delicious soups I've ever had the privilege of tasting--and vegetarian. My one and only criticism is the price of the Avocado Salad, which, at 9.50, was just not worth it. It was tasty, but kind of anemic serving-wise, and though the carrot balsamic vinaigrette was a yummy complement, I could have used much more of it. If it weren't for this one complaint, I'd give Vamos 5.0 for value. Regardless, I'll continue to order.
