Ambiance and Great Food all in one!

Concierge at our hotel suggested Valbella. He said it was his favorite place and now we agree. Lovely atmosphere and delicious food. Had 2 appetizers and could barely finish! Entrees were huge as well. Yummy desserts and wonderful service. Would definitely go back AND recommend to others.

Good Food not worth the price of admission

Food was good and the service was average . Our waiter constantly refilled our glass of water and opened another bottle even though our glasses were full. The place is pushy and wants to inflate your check , by pushing the specials so beware. Wine is a 400 percent markup. Desserts are great but overpriced. All in all a nice place but a rip off. We were also overcharged for one dessert.

    Excellent Experince; Few Faults

A family member recommended Valbella to me for a good place to take my girlfriend when visiting NYC for Valentine's Day, despite the fact she knew I was staying in the Midtown area and probably could have found a nice place around the corner. I was hesitant of the place when she described it because I wasn't sure I would feel comfortable in an up-scale, hip NYC restaurant being from out of town. That surely was not the case. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and since we arrived early, were asked our preference for seating. The atmosphere was romantic and elegant. Did not feel out of place with my smart causal attire. The waiter was polite and catered to exactly what we wanted (recommended that I order half-size of pasta dishes for my first course so I did not spoil my entree). He also suggested the best wine I have had since visiting Italy. The food from the appetizer, to the pasta, to the entree to dessert was out of this world and served perfectly. Despite the busy Valentine's day crowd, the staff was not rushing nor demanding as they let us enjoy the occasion. My steak was nothing short from perfect and my date's Sea bass was described as the same. After a great meal, we were again treated beautifully as we left to enjoy the rest of the night. For my first time treating someone to a romantic, special occasion in the city, Valbella was for sure a good choice and certainly set the bar for others. The only downsides were that although our waiter was attentive, he spoke a little fast due to the hectic holiday and his support staff was falling behind. The price of course could be a reason to be bitter since it was extremely expensive ($60 for steak special) however it is NYC and it was a great overall experience, food and all. I could only imagine the staff would be even better on a normal night. so if you are visiting the city and don't mind spending (of course you don't you're already going) than Valbella is a place to take someone special.

Great Restaurant for a Special Occasion

I went to Valbella for my girlfriends birthday and couldn't have been more pleased. The food is fresh, service is great and the atmosphere is romantic. Drinks and appetizers are overpriced, as most restaurants in the area, but the portions are a good size. Def. check out Valbella, when in town.

    An Amazing Find!

The restaurant was a recommendation and I’m glad we went. Everything was yummy. I especially loved the Medaglioni Di Aragosta Ai Brie appetizer and for dinner I had the Linguine Con Frutta Di Mare. The seafood was very fresh. The flowers throughout the restaurant added warmth and lots of seasonal color. The only downside to our evening was that our waiter wasn’t the friendliest.

    Truly amazing!

Went to Valbella last week for my birthday, been to many meat-packing restaurants and this is by far my favorite. Very romantic, good for a date or friends, but not as loud as others in the area. Service was impeccable and wait staff was extremely attentive. Food was prepared perfectly, but some appetizers are very small and run $20+. Sea bass was phenomenal, great presentation. However, drinks are pricey but are more like a double than a single. Desserts are tremendous! Cant wait to go back, would highly recommend.

"When in New York" dine at Valbella

We were there in Oct of 2006. What a great experience: from the moment we walked in the door, that took over and "our wish was their command". The food was excellent, the service was excellent! They made us feel that they were very glad we were there! In fact, we will be in New York in October 2008 and will be making a reservation to dine again!
