I have been there several times for dinner and a few parties. I was given a party there upstairs in the pastry kitchen. It was a great time. Something different. Dinner was excellent, service was great and dessert was the best. We all had so much fun. Would highly recommend.

I have been here twice in the last week and there's a reason why - this place is fabulous. Hosted a dinner party for 10ppl & the staff was beyond helpful everywhere from wine selection, to every aspect of the meal. I've read some of the other reviews, and if you dont expect to spend a bit of money, stay home and order in. This is a very special place and is worth every penny. Can't wait to return next week.

I am a CT Valbella patron. The NYC Valbella a very special place -- there is an upstairs to this restaurant that makes it even more special. If you are able to reserve the private room with the Pastry Chef -- you will not be disappointed -- very special and your guests will not forget the experience/occasion. I have read some of the reviews which weren't so nice not even accurate....the only comment I will agree with -- issue of sound. But lets face it -- the Meatpacking District is the place to dine. This beautifully designed restaurant is in a warehouse - acoustics are expected to be not so good. All in all our experience last night was a good one. We arrived early -- Hostess had our table ready for us but asked if we would like to be seated -- or have a drink at bar before dinner - we opted for the Bar and our table wasn't given away -- it was there waiting for us. Food was excellent, staff was attentive -- can't complain....our waiter was pleasant didnt rush us and food came out timely.

The food was really excellent especially the fish which was grilled just right but the place will cost you. Drinks are majorly marked up but this is NYC after all. Service was friendly and on par with a place of this calibre. The decor is very cheerful with vases of sunflowers scattered everywhere. The atmosphere is hip but not frenetic with a noise level that allows for conversation (hard to find in this neighborhood). Great for those on expense account or for a special occasion.

This place does not act like a classy restaurant, or a restaurant at all. The attitude of the staff is pretentious. Wait in line to bathroom for 30 minutes just to watch selected "customers" skip the line and insult patrons as they do it. Want to deal with that crap? If yes, this place is perfect for that.

Good food and fun atmosphere, if money is no object. Otherwise, eat elsewhere. This place inflates prices.

Most of the food was not eaten, service was terrible added to the deafening noise level, 8 of us cannot understand their good ratings.
