Excellent
The food here was excellent. The service was pretty quick. The prices are reasonable. I would eat here again and again.

Supposedly, the pizza is better...
Unfortunately, this place fails due to its liquidy pasta sauce that fails to adequately cling to the pasta and created a soupy pool of a plasma like substance at the base of your bowl or dish. The table is crowded with condiments (salt, pepper, cheese, basil, pepper flakes); when the meal arrived, you realize this is because the food itself is pretty bland. The bread was decent but a bit bland, the atmosphere is ok (mainly due to the low lighting and plexiglass table covers that lend it a slightly-more-upscale-than-Ray's Pizza feel) but the tables are a bit cramped together. On the whole, I wouldn't return...at least not for anything but regular pizza. <3 P.S. The flowers, despite their poor appearance, are real.

Great Pizza and a good value!
I really enjoyed the cold antipasto salad and pizza!

Not recommended
Very disappointing; ordered a pizza for two, which was bad; and I weigh my words; took also garlic bread which was oily, overburnt, and.....bad. So I would recommend to avoid this place. Ok it is cheap, but price should not be the only variable to be considered, or should it?

Never been disappointed
Downside: the waiters are kind of cranky and it can get crowded (with little kids...) sometimes. But my mainstays of pizza, baked ziti, ravioli and eggplant parm are always tasty; this is unrelated to nostalgia. And the italian bread and butter is awesome- great to fill up on and then take half your meal home for later...

Delivery
I live a few blocks away. I read the reviews here, and the one negative review made me a little wary. I went ahead and ordered anyway. One order of spinach ravioli in marinara. Got here fast, 10-15 mins. Larger serving than I expected, plus a bread about 10 inches long. Not the best I've ever had, but better than the average in nyc. I'd say this is a very good value

If you've eaten Italian food before...
...you may be more than a little dissapointed. The pizza is safe, especially if you ask them to make it well done. Everything else is overcooked and soggy. Ravioli come floating in a dish of greasy watery tomato sauce. There is a greasy shine to every dish. Some dishes are prepared in a way I have never seen before, and that is not a compliment. For example, the Fra Diavalo dishes are packed with onions!? The waiters are all very old and forget about you all the time. The bread makes Wonder seem kind of home made. It wouldn't be so bad at V&T if it wasn't for Cafe Taci and Pertutti around the corner. V&T happens to be closer to my house, and so lazily, I pop in there sometimes. Every single time I ask myself "why didn't you just walk the extra block and eat something you like?" Sandwiches are safe, but not better than any other pizzeria. The people are very nice, but this is a blunt, fair review. I didn't go to Columbia, so I can't factor in the nostalgia I can only assume beefs up their rating.
