Sliding Backwards
Use to be our favorite spot for getting italian and pizza for delivary, but sadly for some reason (maybe change in chef or management) there has been a very noticable backward slide in the quality of the food. Pizza crust always undercooked even after the first few times we tought it was just a random mistake and tried again asking for it being cooked well done, still got here undercooked. Meatballs and spaghetti would arrive withut the meatballs on more than one occation and they would ahve to send those out, and every thing else changed from being really fresh and tasty to just plain bland. Oh no V&T - what happended!?

One of my worst eating experiences ever
If you expect good Italian food with a good service, avoid this restaurant. When I entered, without a formal greeting, the waiter pointed to a table and I sat down. The menu and the water came without any comment and they were just randomly placed in the middle of the table. I didn't receive any bread and after I realized that I was the only table without bread, I asked the waiter for bread. He didn't apologize for the mistake and inconvenience but made a "Yes, sure" comment in a tone as if it is my fault that he forgot the bread. The food arrived and the pizza was a disaster. I can make better pizza in my microwave. Cheap cheese, cheap prosciutto, too much cheap fat (it soaked the bread as the pizza got colder). The baked ziti were not good either. I asked for extra cheese but the amount of cheese was not even considered normal. The sauce was not good and tasted boring. The rose wine tasted like it was diluted. The food arrived without any comment of the waiter and the waiter seemed to be indifferent to his customers. Since I consider a tip a reward for good service, I left no tip at all because the service was one of the worst I've ever experienced. Really annoying was the fact that the waiter complained to a fellow waiter that me and other guests were able to hear it that I didn't leave a tip. Absolutely unprofessional and a " no no". When I was about to leave he placed the check back on the table and said in a very sarcastic voice: "Thank you very much". Restaurants like this are a nightmare for costumers and gourmets and for people who just expect good food with good service.

Pizza the Old Fashioned Way
This is not the place to come if you want yuppie pizza. This is the old fashioned kind of place. Real pizza. For real paisanos. Not some hoity-toity pretentious stuff. If you order the salad, hey, you're getting ice berg . . . unless you order the caesar, of course, right? Righ. You take risks if you order anything fancy, unless you know what you're doing. Why? Because you're in the wrong place, that's why. This place only serves the best pizza on the UWS and maybe south of New Haven, Ct--if you don't understand what that means, then get smart and ask someone who knows. For poeple who like Sallies in NH this is as close as you're getting in NYC. That doesn't mean it is Sallies, but . . . you don't have to drive and stand in line. Also, the broccolli rabe is divine. D-I-V-I-N-E. Eat the garlic. Go ahead. That's what makes Italian women sexy. The place is family run. The staff is amazing. The cheap wine is terrible, but perfect for the place, just like the ice berg. Again, this is not for wine or radiccio snobs. This is for people who like authenticity.

My favorite pizza in the city
I have since moved downtown, but we still come up to V&Ts. We love this pizza. and their chicken parm! Yes. Grouchy wait staff, but they are a Columbia institution. Go in with the right state of mind and have some really terrific food.

Place needs to geet their stuff together
1. Delivery time was okay. 2. The salad was $6.25 and was literally a head of lettuce and a tomato cut in four with some oil. Im not exagerating. 3. The ziti was stale and hard. I feel guilty for wasting my money. Get some pride guys.

good chicken parm!
The service is truly subpar! There are two decent waiters on staff, the rest don't. Pasta dishes overpriced. The pizza is pretty good, but pricy when you add toppings, larger size, etc. The UWS doesn't offer much better so this your best bet for family dinning for italian food, specially for pizza.

Disappointing
Pizza very so-so, bland and cheap cheese. Chewy crust is ok. Veggie pizza good with fresh toppings. Entrees very poor, fettucine alfredo and pork chop were so bad I threw out the leftovers.
