    Too good to believe

I was very hungry and stopped in here by chance based on the Vietnamese Beef Stew listed on the menu outside. It is small and kind of plain, but with a slight bit of flair to make it obviously not a "hole in the wall." Nonetheless, I was not expecting more than an average meal. But I was blown away. The meat was long-stewed and fell apart. The flavors complemented each other nicely and went very well with the lime soda I got to drink. It was a little escape into heaven in the middle of a regular day. As everyone here says, the portions are generous and the prices are budget-friendly for NYC. The only problem I have is that, based on everyone's reviews, I should try everything, but I keep going back for the Vietnamese Stew! My dining partner got the Chicken and Ginger and that was also tender with a nice blend of flavors. This is one of the few restaurants in my phone's contact list and is becoming a regular stop even though it is a 20 minute walk from home. Save a table for me.

I love Vietnamese Food, I count 30 restaurants across the country (and in Europe) that I have been to. I have the same thing every single time, so I have it down to a science: Beef Pho and Shrimp Summer Rolls. Both dishes at V-Nam are right there with the best of all of them, and I think are the best in New York. With the summer rolls, it's about freshness and proportion. With the pho, it's about depth of flavor of the broth. Pet peeve is not getting enough fresh herbs with the pho. V-Nam was just excellent on all counts.

    Very Good.

The Pho Veggie Soup is delicious. One of the best in the area. I am a regular guest at this resturant. The owner and employee always take care of me. I suggest this place for sure!
