What a fun spot! Excellent, excellent food and absolutely authentic dishes. Well chosen and reasonably priced wine list (amazing number of selections by-the-glass). Terrific, personable wait staff. Service nicely paced. Vibrant, trattoria atmosphere - a little loud, but not too). No one over 35 in the place, so you feel young and cool. It's like a hot "after work" hangout in Milano. My daughter just moved back to NYC after 5 years in Ticino (Italian Switzerland) and it is her favorite place. Complimenti!

What amazing food and service! We had Emilian style focaccia w/ Robiola cheese & black truffles and the Gnocchi Di Ricotta. We can't wait to go back.

We were looking for somewhere to eat on the UES at 11:00PM and did not want to go to a diner. While the food was not amazing, it far exceeded expectations for a late night meal. We will be going back. Plus we were able to grab a bottle of wine for 25 bucks that was serviceable, but if your unsure what you want or want to spend more than that the wait staff is really helpful.

The Lusardis have provided lots of great food on the upper east side over the years, between Due and their eponymous flagship restaurant, but Uva might be their very best. The menu is filled with joyful food, from the veal cannelloni to the duck carpaccio. The cheeses, bruschetta, and antipasto are always wonderful, and the wine list is phenomenal. Ordering dessert is mandatory. The chocolate salami and frequent special "thousand crepes" cake are both must-haves. The restaurant is often loud and crowded, but the atmosphere is pleasant otherwise, and the staff is knowledgeable and enthusiastic.

My fiance and I live in the neighborhood and dine here frequently. The service is always great - we have gotten to know a few of the servers; the food is always delicious; the wine list is excellent; staff is great at making recommendations; and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. It can sometimes get crowded or a bit loud but thats only because its a small spot. It's unlike any place on the upper east! We have been here for dinner, brunch, and late night drinks both during the week and weekend, and have always had a very pleasant experience. It's my fave spot!

I absolutely love Uva. I think the food is delicious(especially the polenta with truffle sauce) and the wine selection is great (especially the malbec by the glass) as well as the restaurant's atmosphere. It can get a little loud at times, but I suggest requesting a table in the garden. Some of the other reviews have said that the service can be pushy and the restaurant can get extremely loud. I often come here on the weeknights and never feel rushed. If you go later (past 8) or you go on the weekends, the restaurant does get loud, but only because it is small and cozy ;)

Uva always manages to be the best of the best. From the amazing food to the very friendly service, its an experience that everyone should have. Yes, I go here when I am out, but the staff is so friendly every time that I feel like I'm at home. The food is always fresh and delicious... But don't tell too many people or I won't be able to get a table... haha
