Uva

I absolutely love Uva. I think the food is delicious(especially the polenta with truffle sauce) and the wine selection is great (especially the malbec by the glass) as well as the restaurant's atmosphere. It can get a little loud at times, but I suggest requesting a table in the garden. Some of the other reviews have said that the service can be pushy and the restaurant can get extremely loud. I often come here on the weeknights and never feel rushed. If you go later (past 8) or you go on the weekends, the restaurant does get loud, but only because it is small and cozy ;)

Uva always manages to be the best of the best. From the amazing food to the very friendly service, its an experience that everyone should have. Yes, I go here when I am out, but the staff is so friendly every time that I feel like I'm at home. The food is always fresh and delicious... But don't tell too many people or I won't be able to get a table... haha

A bunch of friends and I went out for dinner Saturday night. A friend of mine ordered a salad with dressing on the side as an appetizer, our waitress brought it with dressing all over the salad, we tried to send it back when the waitress said, yea sorry there's dressing on it and walked away. Finally we were able to send it back. I received my dish and it was smothered in a spice which I actually did not care for, once it was confirmed that it was sage I asked for another dish since I am deathly allergic to sage and I couldn't eat my dish. She rolled her eyes and handed me a menu, when I just said just give me a bowl of pasta, thanks! When clearing out table our waitress whacked my friend in the face with a plate and apologized, but how do you hit someone in the face with a plate! The bill was handed to us, we split it up and even left a nice tip. Overall I was highly disappointed.. the food was nothing special, the service was horrible and the atmosphere was loud and dark. I do not think that I will be returning anytime soon.

Dined here on Thursday at 8:00pm. It was crowded and loud. The loudest restaurant I've ever been to in NYC. The waitress seemed annoyed that I couldn't hear her; she had a bit of an attitude, must have been due to her bad hair day. Food was just okay. The bill was fair. I left feeling blah.

We ate here twice in one week becasue the food was good, the wine great, the service excelllent (and we didn't feel rushed) and the price was right. The back garden is really nice.

Uva was recommended to me by a co-worker, went with a very good girlfriend of mine. The place is adorable, loved the decor. We loved the food as well. The wine selection is excellent. My only complaint was the service, we felt very rushed at times. The waitress brought the dessert menus, and came back about 30 seconds later to see what we wanted. She did the same with the wine list. All in all, it is a great place to go, can get noisy, but I was very happy with everything & would definitely go back!

I wish there were more restaurants like this on the UES. The interior is really cute, French Country, with great wine. The food is OK, not the best, but the wine makes up for it. If you are ordering food, definitely stick to the pasta, at least in my experience. The little back garden is so cute, and they have really good selections of cheese. For a wine and cheese girl, this place is my favorite.
