I don't know who these people are who've given this restaurant a not-so-good review. I've eaten here 3 times, the food is outstanding! Yes, it's not very big inside and a bit crowded, but it's crowded for a reason... it's GOOD.

I come here frequently and I love it every single time. Food is delish as is the wine and atmosphere. I feel like I'm in Italy when I come here. The waitresses are helpful & nice. Love the back patio. I don't know how anyone could say anything negative. Love this place!

The restaurant is was very crowded with young people ages 20-30's. The tabless are small with hard wooden chairs. I immediately ripped my nylons on the rough wood. I ordered a pasta with veal. you could tell it was microwaved because the top of the pasta was warm and the bottom was very cold. Our dessert was a scoop of strawberries with some whip cream on top and the chocolate cake tasted like a mix. We had a table of 8 and no one finished their food and it was not because anyone overly enjoyed it!

Just got back from brunch at Uva, and I'll say this: it's a wine bar. Nothing more, nothing less.

So let me tell you about UVA... Not only is it our favorite restaurant in all of Manhattan, it also happens to be my new favorite spot for private birthday parties as well.  Last night, I threw a surprise party for my wife.  We had 28 people, they allowed me to personalize the menu, the food was beyond incredible and the service happened to be exceptional!!! They allowed me to personalize the menu and next, I will come to the food:  Eggplant, chicken, salmon, shrimp or whole wheat pasta?  Can't decide?  Every single item on this menu is absolutely the best my wife and I have ever tasted.  And we have eaten at some of the best Italian restaurants in Rome and I will still take UVA over any of those places!   Let's talk wine.  For my money, I think it is almost impossible to beat whatever the house wine is that night.  You can't go wrong with whatever they choose off the extensive wine list.   Let's talk service:  Our server managed to remember 28 orders, never keep us waiting, and always made everyone feel like they were in fact, the one who was celebrating a birthday.  Her attention to detail was second to none:  every time my glass of water or wine was even close to being empty, there was Catherine, pouring away.  And everyone else said the same thing.  The owner, also happens to be one of the nicest guys and it's the first time I have ever seen a restaurant owner actually walk around and ensure that his guests are enjoying their meals and be willing to listen and actually care about their comments and overall dining experience.   I do not have a bad thing to say about this place.  I will give you one tip:  in terms of appetizers, do yourself a favor and order the eggplant rolletini (did I spell that right?)  Thank you everyone at UVA for helping to make my wife's surprise party an overwhelming success!!!!!  We will be seeing you very soon!

Wonderful, Incredible, Amazing. The food is so tasty and the atmosphere is adorable. It’s not just me that feels that way. There have also been many times others have asked if I’ve ever eaten at UVA when others find out where I live. Most tasty items are the Gnocchi Ricotta, Veal Pappardelle, Eggplant Parmesan. Only one problem: They need delivery! Otherwise you must check this place out!

I've been here several times and I absolutely love it! My boyfriend and I still talk about the black truffle gnocchi we got there last year! So delicious and a perfect date place. The back patio is adorable and romantic. I would highly recommend Uva!
