Disappointing experience
We were looking for a decent indian food experience after being in city for couple of hrs. We were four adults and 3 small children. Here is what I think .. 1) All entrees are way overpriced. We were vegeterian and cheapest entree started at $17. 2) Paying higher price does not equart to quality . The food quantity was too bland and not well cooked. 3). Bread ( Naan) was complete joke. Each Naan costs 5 bucks and it is smallest piece of bread you can ever find. 4) Indian beer was too expensive and not worth trying , plain vanilla bud is much better. BTW this purported indian beer is brewed somewhere in saratoga spring ,NY. 4) Our waiter was the most rude person we have ever met.. his attitude was such that he was doing a favour to us. 5) Most indian places give free rice with entree ..not here 6) Poor service..we waited for 20 mins after we were served to get some more breads. All in all we paid $ 230 and regretted why we went there. Street food would have been better.

Soooo disappointed
Dry, over spicy and nothing special. Very pricey. I'm guessing that the owner of this restaurant has deep pockets because, otherwise, there's no reason for this restaurant to survive. Pakora:dry (lifeless). Tandoori (slightly better). Sorry, but the bottled water was the best part of my dining experience here.

No good
We went on mothers day. Very disappointing experience. Food is no good. we spent $178.00 for 3 people; looked like we were eating road side food.

The worst pricest restaurant ever
Went there on Aug 12th for a vegeterian meal with two more couples. First of all they are not kids friendly i.e. no high chair no booster seat. I can see why they wouldn't since they might be more focused on corporate style clientele. But the problem began as soon as we sat down. There was no proper AC or air...we were all sweating. Waiters didn't give a damn as to how we were feeling. But after we had our drinks...we ordered appetizer which were average...the entrees (all veggie) were below average. After spending $400 even then the waiters were least interested in us. No one came to see how we were doing or if we needed to order something else. Never ever going back there. I could have spent 1/2 of what I spent and would have been much more comfortable some where else.

quality
The mahkni chicken and lamb gosht were amazing. We ate here twice for lunch where they have a buffet and it was very good. So we decided to have our rehersal dinner here before we got married. They exceeded expecations on all levels, beer, wine, food, desserts. The decor is nice too. My only complaint is tbat the bathrooms are in desperate need of renovation!

Best Dining Experience In NYC!
We visited NYC last week, and had the delightful experience of dining at Utsav. This was a last minute late dinner decision, and one we were so glad we'd made. We had amazing, attentive staff (4 different people), who made sure we had a first-class night out. We were seated quickly, appetizers on the house (and they were busy also!), the wine was outstanding (yes, we know good wine), and the food didn't let us down either. It was served timely, hot, and seasoned perfectly. Our evening at Utsav was definitely the highlight of our trip, and we've recommended it to friends and family who will be visiting NYC soon.
