poor brunch experience
Friends had enjoyed dinner here in the past so we decide to try the brunch 15.99 deal, which is a good value. We were seated in the back, which was swarming with huge black flies. We stayed only because the front was open and we gave them the benefit of the doubt that the opening let in the bugs. It took the waitress 20 minutes to get our drinks, which were flat sodas. Then, she did not return for 20 more minutes to take our orders. After waiting 45 minutes after that and having been at the restaurant for more than am hour and a half, we complained. She informed us that they were understaffed and there was nothing she could do. Finally, 10 minutes later our food came out. Wrong. Egg whites were eggs and French fries were potatoes. The food was swimming in grease and oil. We were so hungry that we just ate it. After 2 hours, we decided to suck it up and consider it a lesson learned that I'm now sharing with you... stay away from the awful brunch.

Keep to the drinks
The food here is simply inedible. The sides are greasy and tasteless. What they call chicken are small cubes of a rubbery, yet very dry substance that neither looks nor tastes anything like chicken. Did I mention it is overpriced ?!

very good
i usually order the parmesan crusted tilapia fish sandwich, and it's been great every time. there are lots of options on the menu, and my friends always seem to enjoy what they order...also, brunch is an excellent value. the hostesses aren't exactly the friendliest, but the service is definitely good.

Great appetizers
I have never ordered an actual meal but have been in for the happy hour drinks and appetizers. I always try to order something different and have never had something bad. Once there was a special which was barbeque shirmp and it was amazing!

gets the job done
need a cute spot for drinks afterwork? gets the job done. a nice hungover brunch for not that much money? gets the job done. a quick bite to eat? a decent dinner? a nice martini? a casual place to go out on the weekend? uptown can be all of those things. the food is good, the drinks are good, the prices are decent and they have some good deals during the week with things like martini nights. you wont be disappointed going here but you're not going to lose your panties in excitement over anything either.

Used to be my go-to brunch place
Uptown used to be my go-to brunch place given their $15 brunch menu which includes 2 drinks. However, having not gone there in quite some time, I took a friend to brunch today and it was abysmal at best. All the food was cold. I had to send it back. And when they brought my food back they replaced my breakfast potatoes with french fries. Huh?? I was starving by that point so I just dealt with it and ate the french fries. At least they were hot. The omlets have gotten much tinier in size. They used to offer multi-grain toast which I used to order all the time from there. However, wheat toast arrived with my meal today and when I inquired about why I received wheat when I ordered multi-grain they informed me that they now only serve white or wheat toast. Then why didn't the waitress tell me this when I placed my order and specifically ordered the multi-grain? I also ordered sausage and instead of the usual links I had always gotten arrived a cold, greased over looking sausage patty that I would expect to see on an egg McMuffin at McDonald's. When I inquired about this as well they informed me that they used to serve links and now they've switched to these patties. Needless to say, I was pretty embarrassed that I took a friend that was visiting from out-of-town to what was my go-to brunch spot. What used to be a really good value has just gone downhill. I'd rather pay more to get better quality food.

What's the point!
Thought I'd take out my mum and brother to this place when they cam over a few months ago and thought "This should be nice". At the end I knew "This is rubbish". The food was poorly cooked, when we complained about cold fries, they re-fried the same food and they went like little sticks. When asking for some remediation we got nothing. Having lived here for a little while now I wouldn't deal with this place. Only pro was the alcohol but then again they didn't have to make that, only serve it! Go somewhere else, jsut don't bother... shame!
