    The best around

This is the best by far vegetarian food I have ever had. It is worth making that trip from Schenectady NY serval times a year. We sometimes drive down here just to get the food and come back home. It's worth it! We need more places like this. Keep up the good work..

    Oh, those cheese rolls....

Completely addicted to the cheese rolls; I can't recall if the cheese is soy or tofu; but either way, those rolls are very, very tasty, especially, when they are hot from the oven. I always wait the extra 10mins to have them warmed in the oven. Enjoy!

    We'll come Uptown from Brooklyn

This place is amazing. We've been several times and we're never ever sorry we made the trip all the way from Bushwick. THIS is the place we bring our vegan friends from out of town, and THIS is the place we bring our omnivore New York friends. Everyone is blown away by the great food. Being from the south, where the vegan dining experience is not always so easy to find, a spread like the one at Uptown Juice Bar can sometimes tempt one into piling their plate with the nothing but fake meat - sort of a take it when you can get it mentality. But it would be a shame to do so at the Juice Bar, where the greens and curried mashed potatoes are just as savory as the barbeque chicken wings and stir fry. The pastries are delightful as well. And, unlike other places serving vegan meat dishes, after a meal at Uptown, I don't feel like I've overloaded on grease.

    Melt in Your Mouth

This food is OUTSTANDING, it's as if your not eating vegetarian food at all. The Chef has mastered the ART of cooking vegetarian food with a twist of soul! The food has a unique flavor and has a blend of spices that makes your toes curl.... This place would make you stop eating meat if you haven't already.......SUPERB!!!!

    Yum

I'm really glad this place is here. This is the perfect combination of healthy and soul. A little grease but not so much you are feeling gross afterwards. I recommend the buffalo soy wings, collards, stirfries with soy products, veggie burgers, and soups. Sometimes when I get a plate I notcie they tend to fill your plate with the vegetables instead of the soy dishes, oh well. I am not sure how they get away selling those soy wings for 1.25 a piece!

    Excellent Food---depending on the day...

This has the potential to be a FABULOUS neighborhood restaurant if Uptown could master CONSISTENCY! The cozy restaurant off of bustling Lennox and 125th is known in Harlem for a 100% soulful vegetarian menu that spans breakfast, lunch and dinner. The largely takeout restaurant expanded their seating area a few years ago and also have a small book exchange stand for patrons who decide to eat in. The Juice Bar is superb using fresh ingredients and doling out healthy portions. The grill items are also great but what keeps people in line is the hot food bar.The ISSUE is: hope the cook is having a good day". The soy chicken stir fry is easily the most popular dish but what you *actually* get is very random. Sometimes the food is overcooked and tough while other times it brings tears to your eyes that someone finally mastered vegetarian cooking SOULFULLY. The one area they never go wrong is the bakery. I would happily devote 1/4 of my paycheck each month to get the outstanding baked goods (no egg, dairy, white sugar---but moist and delicious!)
