Great sushi
This place looks downtrodden but the sushi is amazing and cheap! Try the "i love eel" roll its the best.

Food was just not good
Ordered from here - so I can't really comment on much else. For the price, which wasn't too good, I really can't recommend this place at all.

Great Food
Well, i don't live in NY but i always come on vacation, and that's my place to go eat sushi, the Alaska roll is simply spectacular, i have been to many sushi places but this one is the best, good service, good food, good prices but the atmosphere is very plain, i guess they just want to keep it simple, the real chinese ambience.

The best chinese in the neighborhood
We've ordered from most every place in the area and Uptown Cottage is by far the best food at reasonable prices. The lunch special cannot be beat! The food is delivered fast and fresh [we're talking within 10 mins usually!] Decor is standard take out ambience... not bad but nothing great. If you live in within delivery limits this is the place to order from!

Quality Chinese and Japanese Selections
Uptown Cottage has a very nice selection of both Chinese and Japanese dishes. The Chinese side of the menu offers all of the traditional favorites at a good value. The fried dumplings are very tasty. On the Japanese side, the Sushi bar is actually surprisingly good. The Sushi Chef might not be Japanese (don't let the hat fool you), but nevertheless, he is adept at his craft. The fish is fresh and the rolls are excellent. Try any one of the chef's special rolls and you won't be disappointed. The takeout is among the fastest in the neighborhood and while dining in might not be the most romantic nightspot, it is a pleasant experience. The waitstaff is professional and cheerful. The management seems to have things running smoothly. The food is great tasting and offered at a great value. Uptown Cottage is definately on my speed dial and should be on yours too!

Good chinese food
I just ordered some cold sesame noodles and beef with stringbeans in garlic sauce and it was the bomb. Only order chinese food from here. I heard the sushi is off the hook as well!

Best vegetable fried rice
I live in Ruppert Towers, up the hill and across the street from this restaurant. I've been ordering their vegetable fried rice without onions for years. The rice is the best around and the service is really, really fast!
