This restaurant's food quality has declined a great deal. The last dish I ordered was to be spicey; it was watery with brown water as gravy which was tasteless. Time for me to move on. The staff is great. Change the cooks.

We used to order from this place all the time and loved it! It seems there is new management...and it is now disappointing. Not only is the food unappetizing, but we just waited an hour and a half for delivery. When we called to check on the status...they were unapologetic and had no update. We ended up canceling our order.

I've ordered from here a bunch of times over the last two years, and it's a consistent favorite. I usually get fried dumplings (8 for $6!), chicken when I wasn't vegetarian, and the veggie ones now. Both are good, though objectively the chicken are probably better, as evidenced by the fact that I eventually started getting 2 orders when 1 didn't cut it. I've had good luck with the entrees, too, probably helped by the fact that I keep away from anything fried/saucy as a matter of principle. Try the mu shu, veggies, noodles, or tofu with hot pepper. The best thing is that delivery has never taken more than 30 minutes, so my dumpling fix is never far away.

Nothing will turn me off faster from a place that serves sushi than slimy fish. I had ordered Chinese takeout a couple of times, and it was good enough, but the time I ordered a Spicy Tuna Roll was the last time I called for delivery from here. The rolls were sizeable, but the tuna was completely slimy. I couldn't eat more than the first bite. For sushi, I now always refer to Sushi Suki, which has become my fave in the neighborhood.

Service is basic. I wouldn't eat in. But this is a very solid restaurant for delivery and I would highly recommend. The food is good and reasonably priced. The sushi, in particular, is actually well worth the price - especially the lunch specials. I'm glad this restaurant is in my hood.

Uptown Cottage is by far the BEST Chinese food in the UES! Both the food and service are great! Their delivery time is rarely more than 15 minutes and the food is always fresh and hot. It's a little more expensive than the typical Chinese take out, but well worth it!!...Try their fried rice, you won't be disappointed!
