I'm a tough critic--I love this place!
I've worked in the restaurant industry for over 13 years and find it very difficult to go out and feel truly relaxed. I'm never happy with at least a few aspects of most restaurants I visit. Uncle Nick's is the exception....they exceed my expectations every time!! The service is attentive, but not overly. The food is fresh, filling, and affordable. I love that I can get a great bottle of wine for under $30--what a find in Mid-Town New York!! I can't say enough about Uncle Nick's!! I love this place!!

The best of the best
I came to celebrate my birthsday at Uncle Nick's and I had total blast. I loved the atmosphere, the energy of the place, interier of the restaurant makes you fell for a second that you are in Greeece. The food was absolutely delicious. I recomend this place to everybody, who would like to try something different or to greek lovers. Enjoy!

Can't say enough good things
This place is wonderful- especially for big groups. They are very accomodating. Try the tzaziki- it's great. It's also good for vegetarians- they have a very generous greek salad and their small dishes are great.

Disappointed
After having heard how great this place is, I decided to try it out for lunch. It was one of the worst experiences in New York. The food didn't seem that much traditional Greek or served in the same way as they serve in a typical restaurant in Greece. For example the souvlaki was served with rice. More importantly the food didn't taste well, and for the quality it was extremely expensive. Also, keep in mind I'm Greek. Maybe I'll give it a second chance sometime.

Disappointing...
it was my second attempt to enjoy authentic greek food and unfortunately the result was the same....the kebob that I ordered was unchewable, served without any sauces. I could barely handle one piece (out of 5 or 6) The food doesnt have any flavor and overpriced. it was my second and the last visit to that place.

Fabulous Greek Restaurant
Service was excellent; food awesome -- we selected side dishes "tapas" style and loved them. The sausage was excellent. Chicken stuffed w/ spinach was lovely. The greek white wine we selected (drank way too much of it, so can't remember the label) was crisp and tasty; the ouzo was served in generous portions. A bit pricey ($50 per person w/ tip), but considering the amount of liquor consumed, well worth it.

Great food. Great price.
To the bonehead reviewer who posted on 4/6/06 who couldn't find "Greek salad" on the menu. It's on the menu. There is a small and a large. The small size is more than enough to share with 2-3 people if you are also getting other dishes to share. If you couldn't find something on the 4 page menu why didn't you ask your waiter? I'm sure he could've flipped the menu page for you and point it out. The prices are extremely reasonable. I was a bit wary of the seafood section on the in-house menu. Most of the prices were marked "Seasonal". In NYC this could be $$$. So we ordered a few dishes to share amongst us. The waiter service during weekend lunch at 3pm was a bit shoddy even though there were only 5-6 couples eating there at the time. But the food was EXCELLENT. I'd definetly go again if i was in the area. There's a small rear "garden" area in the back if you want to sit outside. But it was way too hot for that. Maybe in the evening...
