    Great Greek Food

Many of my girlfriend's friends recommended this restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised. The pork souvlaki was delicious and I also enjoyed the four dips appetizer. I couldn't stop myself from enjoying the delicious food. The downside was the waiter who was not attentive at all.

    Opa!

While exploring the hell's kitchen area, I found this place by "mistake" or more likely by some good luck. We walked up & down the streets around there looking for a decent priced place to eat dinner, when we decided on a place across the street...the menu selection was bland and the service lousy - never saw our waiter after he seated us, left after 10 minutes...That's when we went to Uncle Nick's. The food was DELICIOUS, and plenty of it! What flavor on the meats! The lamb and pork just melted in my mouth. The layers of flavors were intoxicating! And the flaming cheese...YUM. It was tasty and perfectly "flamed"(?). We took home a couple of desserts, which were incredible. The service was also outstanding. Our water never went empty and our food came within minutes after our horsdeurve (cheese). They have an impressive selection of greek and other wines, and the one the waiter recommended was perfect for our meal. I can't wait to visit again then next time I'm in NY.

    Absolutely deliscious food

I like to make it short and sweet.....great food, fantastic. It is very crowded , but that did not bother our party when that deliscious food came out. Our waiter was quick and attentive.

    Not happy

We went here on a friday night when it was almost empty but our waiter (more like a bus boy) tried to give us a table right next to the front door. We chose another table and he was not happy. The rest of the meal he was impatient with us and took our bread, which tasted like supermarket bread, before I was done. He also was wearing an obscene amount of cologne and made my wife lose her appetite it was so strong. We had a chicken kebob and fried calimari which was good although the chicken was dry. We won't be returning to this restaurant even though we love greek food.

    2 people, 1 review!

    1. Service - our "main" waiter was decent and became more polite towards the end of the meal, but was a bit rude at first. He may have been anxious. The other two gentleman were very pleasant and respectful. Although we did not know who our "real waiter" was along! 2. Quality - The quality of the food was good. I had no complaints with the tastes. Everything seemed fresh. 3. Quantity - The quantity suprised me a bit, because I expected more (in comparison to other places I have been - like when I have greek food at diners). I thought they might have given you a small greek salad on the side with your meal and I didn't know the waiter was extremely literal when saying the spinach pieces were small (like a prewarning - 'its not what you think'). 4. Price - Well, considering the fact that we are in the city, the prices seemed decent. Although, I wasn't to sure about serving 4 pieces of a spinach pie for 9 dollars... that seemed a little off. 5. Location - I thought the location was convienent. Its not too far from public transportation venues, and if you're out late, theres no need to worry so much about surroundings because its located in a crowded area, nearby other restaurants. 6. and something else? ha! - something else? taking all those things into consideration, I would say it was a good experience, because they did have good food. It was interesting to find out that there are two parts. I was impressed with that, because you have the choice of the "dimlit, fancy-feel" part, or the "bustling - looks like a diner" part. It would had been nice if they told us as soon as we stepped in. It is wise to go with good friends and you'll definitely have a good dining experience.

    lovely gem of a place

I have to say that this is one of the best values in town. Delicious, quality Greek cuisine, a varied and relatively inexpensive menu. The salads are always fresh, the seafood superb. Honestly have never had a bad meal, whether in the restaurant or delivery, which is prompt by the way. Every time I bring someone to this place they love it. I would recommend a visit wholeheartedly. Some of their best include the taramosalata appetizer and for entree the grilled octopus.
