    Disappointed

We ordered food as delivery and my beef kibob was sooo hard and untasty that I felt like my jaw was breaking, my boyfriend ordered elliniki which was not as that bad. Overall I don't recommend this place at all.

    Ok, we guess.

Wanted Greek food on our 9-day US vacation. Relied on my Frommers NYC book. Food was good, but not as good as Frommers made it to be. Service was superb. Waiter was attentive and pleasant as were the busboys. We all decided to have kebobs - one of each - chicken, beef, pork and lamb. Was a good idea to have veggies in between the kebobs, but disappointed that the Greek salad was not included (esp. for the price). There was way too much rice and was too lemonie. The meat was fresh; portion size good and was tasty. What was missing was tziki sauce for the kebobs. The Greek salad was very good with lots of big chunks of tomatoes, cucumbers, feta cheese; dressing was very good as it did not drown out the veggies; portion was large so was good to share. The atmosphere for this restaurant was only below average as the lighting was too dark (hard to read the menu) and the seating was very tight and close to other tables. Had to constantly move our chairs so that other patrons and waiters go get to other tables which was very annoying. Can't decide if we would recommend this restaurant as we would give this 3 out of 5.

    Local fav.

We live in the area and order from Uncle Nick's all the time. It was well highly recommended on the Midtown Lunch site. The gyros are well priced and not overstuffed or too-messy-to-eat. The saganaki is out of this world. We've been to a bunch of places around the city and I can honestly say that outside of Astoria, it's about as good as they come. They have good desserts too. Take out orders are prompt and the food is good.

    Great food Good Value

I had lunch here on a Thursday afternoon in August. The resturant had a great atmosphere, good food at a great value. I had a small Greek salad which was actually quite a nice size for a small salad. The Gyro sandwich was of good quality lamb meat and very inexpensive. The menu seemed to have a large variety and I went with two vegetarians who also had many options to choose from.

My Greek Inlaws would Not approve

Its been a few years since I last dined at Uncle Nicks, and the place has definitely gone downhill. I ordered Scallops with rice and the scallops had what I thought was sand all over them. I informed my waiter and he later came back telling me it was actually shells I was tasting. Ummm? Usually I love the rice at Greek/Mediterranean restaurants but it was really bland and somewhat soggy. Our waiter never came to check on his and mumbled unenthusiastically. I won't be returning to this restaurant again. Too many other great greek restaurants in the city.

Poorest Greek Food I Have Had in NYC

My friend and I both ordered fish, halibut and striped bass - both dry and overcooked, both in overload of lemon sauce. The appetizers were unappetizing - we tried the grilled octopus and calamari. Octopus was hard and chewy, calamari was very dry. The only thing i liked in this restaurant was the rice, and if they got that wrong, I would probably ask to speak to the chef.

    Good, but Just Good

I always order tzatziki when eating Greek food and this was good, but just that, just good. For my meal I had the snapper, which seemed extra boney. It was described as being grilled with oil and lemon. I tasted neither. Service was somewhat attentive. My water glass went empty twice and I had to hunt down someone to refill it.
