Excellent Greek Place
Being a new york city concierge i am always on the look out for great food places to recommend to our guests. This is a fabulous place for families and fun. The food was fresh ,excellently prepared and fairly priced for nyc standards.I went for lunch and had the cup of soup which is served in a bowl! chased a bad feeling away great. and a sandwich all under $10.00. Check it out

They missed the point of greek food!
The point of Greek food is the freshness and quality of the ingredients!!! I went there today and the service was great. the guys that work there are accomodating. I ordered the tsatziki sauce with pita, wonderful! At least they didn't mess that up! I also had the grilled baby octopus....not so great baby. I attempted to cut it with my knife, and when that wouldn't work I asked for a steak knife...still tough! Chewing one small piece literally took me 64 seconds. When I told the server that it was rubberry, he told me that octopus is like that?!! Has he not had good grilled octopus? For one I could taste that it was not a fresh piece, probably frozen then defrosted, then refrozen when it didn't sell the day before. Trust me, cause I love grilled octopus. Its a delicate, tempermental seafood. If you can't cook it, DON"T! I figured I would keep it light with some sauteed scallops. Maybe they don't understand what saute means? what i got was lightly breaded, pan fried, and smothered in a thick sauce. No garnish nothing! it didn't even look appetizing! The scallops weren't evenly cooked, and were small. I think they should serve giant scallops, lightly sauteed maybe with some tomato onions. I am not going in depth about the sweetbreads,

SimpleAuthentic & Tasty
My husband and I went here for my Birthday and fell in love with their food. Food like this you would have to go to Queens or Greece to get because, there is no where in Manahattan like it. I can think of one other but, very fancy. This place is for anyone that doesn't mind a little music and vibe. It depends on what you are looking for; I was looking for good food, clean, a soulful atmosphere and good service. I got all that and more.

far too noisy
i dont care how good the food, the noise reverberates at a very high level. to me that loses points in value bigtime. service excellent. i had bought a friend who loved this place a gift certificate that went unused for a year as she was called out of state to care for ailing parent. at first, they did not want to honor it for her when she returned (there was no expiration date on certificate), but in the end they manned up.

A reason to go back to NYC
My daughter treated me to lunch at Uncle Nick's and we had a wonderful time. The restaurant itself brings back memories of Europe. The food was delicious! We started with cold appetizers, and I had a gyro that was a bit spicy, but very tasty. I would definitely go back to try more of the menu!

Great Greek food
I ate here a few years ago. I'm Greek, and I am used to homemade Greek food. The food at Uncle Nick's was very good. Someone commented about no tzaziki sauce with the kebabs. Greeks do not serve that sauce with kebabs. It's served with gyros, not the same thing.
