    Subpar

The pizza was old. The toppings were skimpy. And lastly, it took over an hour to arrive. I was very disappointed. Never again will uncle Mario's get my business. This was the worst pizza I've ever had!

    less than mediocre -- poor

The delivery order was wrong. The marinara sauce was watery. In general, the meal was bland, there was no visual evidence or taste of herbs or garlic.

    Images Sometimes Deceive

What looks like a pizza place/tourist trap in the theatre district is actually far better. Not "gourmet", but really very good food. Had linguine with clam sauce, al dente as requested with at least a dozen manila clams in the shell, opened, on top of the pasta. A vey memorable waitress/hostess, Carmella, direct from Italy! The space and d├ęcor is very low-end, but the food, for what it is, is very high quality. I'll be back.

    Great Pizza

After seeing a matinee nearby, I took my granddaughters for pizza. The pizza was amazing, thin crispy crust and plenty of cheese. The only disappointment we had was the restaurant staff was moving tables and chairs around. The furniture moving and noise it created was quite uncomfortable.

    best' white' pizza

visited this place for the first time on Wed after a matinee. my out of town guests wanted 'white' pizza. we ordered the three cheese pizza, ceasar salad and mozzarella sticks. the pizza crust was thin and crisp and not overbaked. the salad, though over dressed, was good. we were disappointed with the mozzarella sticks as they were mostly fried breading. our waitress was friendly making for an all around good experience.

We are native New Yorkers now living in Arizona. We were in NYC for 2 weeks and found Uncle Mario's on Menupages. It was so good the first time that we came back again with our other family members, also from Arizona. We ordered pies, lasagna, pasta, shrimp parmagiana. Everything was excellent. Our waitress was a throwback to the glory days of the NY Italian restaurant. She makes you feel like you're part of the family. When we come back again, we will make this our first night;s dining spot. We will also be passing the word to family and friends that they stop by as well. The only 2 drawbacks are that if you get there at the wrong time, you will have to wait. But it is worth it. The 2nd drawback is that they don't have a place in food starved Scottsdale, AZ.
