best sushi and most reasonable prices!

I go to Umi about once a week for either take out or dine in. Never had delivery, but the food is excellent. You can't beat the lunch special prices, three rolls soup and salad for under 10. It doesnt get much better than that. Their special rolls are great for dunner, nice size rolls. I highly recommend this restaurant for a lowkey, good price, great food place. Take it from a sushi expert

    Best NYC Sushi Here

Their Special Rolls are beyond good. Don't miss the Mango rolls. Killer Katsu - Don. Fresh good sushi in Murray Hill. I've only ate in so I cannot speak for the delivery. Get out of your apartment and head here for good sushi.

    favorite sushi in the area

This is definitely my favorite sushi place in Murray Hill- it's realiable and never over-crowded. The staff is really friendly and the sushi is always always fresh. I have never had a bad meal at Umi and for the price it's really worth it!!

    mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

i love umi! best house dressing ever. i order two salads from there with my own eggplant miso. iif you like eggplant miso, this is it. im probably one of the most frugal ppl ever and to get a miso eggplant for 3.50 makes me more happy than a day of shopping. My friends all come over and we order Umi. Delivery is pretty fast and they always always get my order right. The only problem is that they have fish roe on EVERY ROLL so if you dont like roe then specify and repeat that youre not a fan of those fish eggs. Friends + Umi = Happiness. If that's whats planned for your night, I'm sure that math equation will add up for you too exactly like mine does. Enjoy yourselves and treat Umi well just as they treat you.

    Wow what a let down

My girlfriend and I read the reviews and ordered take out from there twice. The first time we ordered, the order was subpar. The sushi was of poor quality, the spici tuna rolls small and I could have gotten better miso from a deli. Given the positive reviews, though we decided to give it another try....big mistake...When the order came it was wrong and it took a solid hour plus to arrivewhen we called, they refused to send us the right food. No thanks, there are too many good sushi delivery places in the neighborhood to waste money here.

    Excellent Sushi

This sushi is excellent! Especially the mango varieties! This is now my favorite sushi in NYC. The delivery guy has complained that his tip is not sufficient with me as well (someone else complained about this). My tip was more than sufficient, so that's pretty rude. Welcome to NY, I guess! Also, they could work on not burning the edamame. But, it's still delicious!

    Poor meal

I read the review for Umi and decided to give it a try since it's only a few blocks away. I must say, I was very disappointed- the sushi was terrible, and the delivery guy was beyond rude because he felt my tip was inadequate. I'm sorry, but you're not getting ten bucks for walking two blocks. Anyhow, the spicy tuna roll was sub par, the edamame too buttery, and the shrimp tempura roll was terrible as well. I would not reccomend this place, if you're looking for a new sushi place, do not try Umi.
