    Great Sushi

Been here twice now -- once for lunch and the other for dinner. I must say that the Sushi in both instances was wonderful. My wife and I enjoyed it a lot. We just happened to pass by the restaurant and tried it out. I didn't think it was very expensive either, I would highly recommend this place!

    great!

I love Umi Sushi. I have only been to the actual restaurant once to pick up food but I always get it delivered about once a week. They are so fast and the food is great! I love Umi and would recommend it to anyone!

    Not worth it at all

My boyfriend and I tried this place because of the good reviews and it was awful! The spicy tuna rolls I ordered had so much mayonnaise in them that it was all you could taste, and the rice he got was undercooked. The rolls were also tiny and you only got 6 - so even though it was a fairly good price, it's still not worth it. The service was nice but it's because we were the only ones there, and it doesn't offset how disgusting the food is. Definitely won't be going here again.

    Great Sushi

Went to lunch with co-workers. Had the Sushi lunch special. Was very good. Looking forward to coming back. Ate on the Patio, nice spot between the buildings.

Best Sushi in Town - Try the Umi Roll!

Wow - how can I describe this without sounding too biased, but my partner and I had the most amazing meal here. Where to begin? Well we didn't bother with a starter and just went for a few larger choices to share. Firstly, the sashimi was deliciously fresh. We went for the salmon. Glad to see a choice of Soy Sauce - the low salt one is perfect. The rolls though - amazing! We had the Mississippi Roll, The BMW Roll and what became my favourite, the Umi Roll. With each roll they've achieved a perfect balance of flavour and texture. They taste so good that adding wasabi or soy sauce hinders the taste in my opinion. Our server was very knowledgable and friendly. She gave us excellent advice and service. We even added a bottle of wine to the bill which went down very well with the food. So all in all, a fantastic experience and glad we chose 31st Street to walk down as we may never have discovered some of the best sushi we've ever had on our travels. It was so good we ended up going back a few days later.

Umi is definitely one of my favorites in NYC

I started going to Umi a few years ago because they were close to my old office, but have consistently kept going back due to the delicious sushi, fair prices, and attentive service. The Umi roll is my favorite but everything is always wonderful and fresh and they always give me and whoever I am dining with something complimentary to start the meal off. Try it! You won't be disappointed.

    fishy.

we ordered the spicy tuna naruto, the spicy trio, cali roll, soup and salad. the fish was VERY fishy but no complaints elsewhere. the cali roll was standard and tasty. the salad was larger than ususal and the ginger dress was delicious. the miso was average. when you do take out and pay on CC you need to show your card to the delivery man...that was strange. overall, not a bad dinner, but there are definitely better sushi joints in murray.
