I really enjoyed the spicy rolls here. The lunch special is a good value. Never been to the restaurant. I just get delivery from them which can be a bit slow. Otherwise, good place.

My fiance and I, both sushi lovers, just moved into the neighborhood and tried all the recommended sushi places (about 5?) in Murray Hill. This was by far the best. My all-time favorite is still Tomoe Sushi on Thompson in the village, but this is a close second and here about once/week. Note that the actual place is very average (we get delivery).

Looks like (well it is) a hole in the wall but despite appearances the best sushi in the neighborhood. The servers are so kind and the fish is so fresh and the prices are great.

I love this place-- they open early during the week (11am), are incredibly friendly, and have great fish (including the best white tuna I've ever had) at good prices. I just wish I lived in the delivery zone...

I order out from this place about 2-4 times a week. Their foor is fantastic and they are very fast and accurate. I went to the actual restaurant once and found it was quiet small but very quiant. The people their new who I was right after I placed my order and the were very friendly and attentive. This place is a most order if you love sushi on a regular basis.

The restaurant itself is not much to look at - very small and average - but this really is tasty, excellent, and extremely fresh sushi. Umi can't be beat for delivery, which is pretty fast, or take-out. Their hand roll menu is inventive, and they don't skimp on the fillings/fish. Favorites of mine include spicy tuna anything (it's the mashed up variety, as it should be), the Crazy Shrimp roll, Banana Roll, and the Spicy Girl, a true tuna lover's indulgence. My favorite Murray Hill sushi joint!
