I visited the city today and was at Umbertos at 11 am, first customer. The service and Linguine with clam sauce was outstanding. Yes the sauce is that good. Even the salad was awesome. Little pricey, but still worth it.

My husband and I walked down to Umberto's and enjoyed a nice, casual dinner. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. We had the Carnivale Dinner and it was very enjoyable. Baked clams had a crunchy topping and were tender. The pasta course was simple, but the sauce was good and the pasta cooked perfectly. I had penne with marinara and my husband had tortellini with bolognese. I had sausages with pepper and onions and my husband had the chicken Francese, with lemon and butter. Both were well done and just plain good. Nothing is fancy. They're not into fancy plating or anything. Expect the old-fashioned Italian food you had when you were growing up. We finished our meal with, what else.....canoli. It was a nice evening. Our server couldn't have been nicer. In fact, everyone in the place was polite and friendly.

Their food is outstanding, especially their spaghetti. There's just something about the sauce that makes me crave more and can't wait to get my hands on another plate. May be a little pricey but they are the best when it comes to spaghetti. And the service is uncomparable. Fast, friendly service. They are worth the price and the drive since I live 45 to 60 minutes away.

i love there food. the serivce is really great. i have tried most of there stuff and it is delicious. the atmosphere of the resturant is to serve the people and make sure they like there food. it can get crowded, but i love the place

We visited Umbertos last month (Jan 07) and it was absolutely one of the best meals I've ever had! I enjoyed the Lobster Ravoli which was absolutely delicious. My bf enjoyed the steak and lobster combo and both would melt in your mouth. We also enjoyed the baked clams (some of the best I've eaten). Everyone was very nice and accommodating! We are going back tomorrow night!!

I ate there on 10/28/06 and I and my friend thought it was the best meal we ever had. The Linguine with Red Clam sauce was amazing. I'm Italian and I'm now ashamed of my own sauce. The chicken Parm was delicious and my friends said it was the best they ever had. Well worth the price.

Fun place but cramped. Staff kept bumping into diners all the time. Good portions but don't order the Lobster Fra Diavolo special. For $42+ you would not expect most of the tail and other portions to be missing. Everything only seems overpriced when it disappoints. If money doesn't matter, it is worth one trip.
