    Great food, great service

Our family was looking for another restaraunt, but got turned around. Being tired and hungry we changed plans and were very happy with the outcome. Hearty meals served hot by a hardworking wait staff. The food was great - the potato pancakes are excellent, as is the strogonaff, and rice pudding for dessert.

The Best Ukrainian Food In Manhattan!!

I love everything about this place: a) the food is beyond awesome (try their potato pancakes - you'd be hooked!) although it is not always consistent, very regrettably -- and that's why i gave it "4.5" instead of "5" for food quality. b) old world charm. c) very reasonable prices. d) service is often slower than i would have liked but it's ok :)

    Good Food

In a diner type of atmosphere, I had a wonderful beef stroganoff with noodles. I'm looking forward to returning and trying some of the other dishes. Reasonable prices; good service.

Go there for the food, not the atmosphere

So it does look like the decor hasn't changed since at least the midst of the Cold War, but that's an afterthought after the food comes out. . .just went and got awesome borscht (got it hot this time), kielbasa with sauerkraut and potatos, veal schnitzel and cheese blintzes. All that, with a couple pints of Stella, was only 44 bucks. A steal in the East Village and great food.

    A good Ukrainian place

I've been here a number of times with friends and my parents - my father liked that he could talk Russian to the waiter to order. I usually get borscht with blini or stroganoff. They have an assortment of yummy dishes. The prices are very reasonable, and the decor is simply and nice. I look forward to coming back.

    Always a great experience!

I've been to this restaurant three times now and and am always very pleased by the quality of the food and the prices. Dishes are very authentic and come in large portions, so it's a perfect place to share as you sample new foods. My favorites include the hot Borscht, the pierogies, and the stuffed pepper with rice and and meat. You can't beat the prices!
