Fresh and Tasty!
Read the other reviews, and I ordered what was recomended. The ice tea is great, and it comes in the big soup container, so there is enough for 2 or three. Lite chicken with broccoli with garlic sauce was awsome. Ribs good too. Veggie tofu soup ok. It was my first time, and I am sure it is going to be a healthy staple in my diet.

AVOID the "Shrimp" Lo Mein
I have bought the shrimp lo main combo platter for more then 2 years at both old and new locations. Last week they started using tiny baby shrimp instead of the usual medium size shrimp , they were so tiny it was difficult to find them . I would avoid any shrimp dish.

U not like
They should call this place "U Not Like." Ribs were burnt and greasy (a first -- I've never seen oily and greasy ribs before). The "diet" order of tofu with vegetables came in around a six inch pool of oil and grease. Even the rice was no good. How can you screw up rice? This place is an eyesore on Columbus Avenue, with its bright lights an neon. It's also a lousy restaurant.

Order inthe ribs are terrific
I've ordered in many times from U Like, both at the current location and their previous one on Columbus Ave. (they were priced out of their lease by a large chain store). Barbecued spare ribs have been consistently delicious. Tell them how you want other dishes cooked, and they will comply. I have gotten mixed steamed Chinese veg with grilled tofu and garlic sauce on the sidelight and very nice. Soups are good, old-fashioned chicken chow mein harks back to family dinners of childhood...and the eggrolls are crunchy! They have Latino plates to order as well. Very inexpensive, fast delivery, and consistently good. Ask them what their specials are, too.

Fast and good
I love the shredded spicy chicken, also known as the hot and spicy chicken on the lunch menu. And the homemade iced tea is to die for! This place is great for any occasion, as long as you aren't eating out. But for these prices I don't care what the restuarant looks like. I'll take it to go. They rarely fail to satisfy me. A must try for Chinese food for the Upper West Side.

One thing puts it above all others...
Next time you order ask for the HOMEADE ICED TEA - there are other cheap chinese places closer to me but I will order from them simply for that beverage. Get one Large for 1.50 if you do not believe me. Also another good dish they have is the FRIED BABY SHRIMP! Good luck!

Outstanding soup
Best Chinese vegetable soup with tofu in New York. Whenever I return home exhausted at night, feel run-down or have a cold, I order their soup and am better by the next morning. They will spice it up if you ask. Fresh, generous ingredients, and never tastes warmed-over. Hot and sour and egg drop soups are fine also. Main dishes and combination platters are tasty, and the prices are low.
