I don't know how we missed this place during so many years of suffering mediocre food and drinks at other mexican restaurants. The food was amazing - the mole sauce for the tamals were perfection, staff were friendly, courteous and attentive, and the drinks were smooth and strong. We will be back!

Having lived in California for many years and visited Mexico several times, we know decent Mexican food, and this ain't it. Chicken mole tamale was tasteless, tortilla soup too spicy and flavorless, and faquitas completely bland with some very tough chicken. Could not have been more disappointed.

Family run Mexican is the best way to go. Excellent food and friendly service makes one feel they are part of a family.

This place is great and a cut above the usual predictable Mexican fare. Food is really delicious, the menu is a good balance of a few classics and some unexpected treats. Flavors are bright, authentic and complex. The service was great, very friendly and attentive. They have made the best of a "railway carriage" type space and the TV mentioned in the negative review is above the bar at the very back and is not obtrusive. Highly recommended if you like your Mexican food to be more than TexMex.

Food was fantastic, I would eat endless corn on the cob. Drinks were delicious! Table side guac! And our server Jose was a peach! Can't say enough good things!

This small restaurant is not charming because they make you watch TV while you eat. We could not leave because another couple chose this restaurant. Also, $12 guacomole?! Who do they think they are?.. a fancy restaurant? Way overpriced dishes, and not a pleasant environment. I will never return.

My BF and I make it a point to try a lot of Mexican restaurants, so excited that this opened in our neighborhood, because it is fantastic. Drinks- fresh, not syruppy, strong but not overpowering. The tableside guac was made to order and was perfect ( i am a bit picky- lil cilantro, lil lime, lil jalepeno). The main courses were light, not greasy, satisfying, flavorful, delicious ( try Tampiquena!). The service was impeccable. Very attentive, sweet, and timely. Manuel is a lovely man and makes a hell of a guac! We were not disappointed and will go back. We were treated Extremely well there. Go! Go! Go! Of note: there is a small bar in the back of the restaurant, which, I think is a plus with a TV, big that plays relevant sports games!! The atmosphere is clean and well put together!
