I am in love with this bakery. Everything is super fresh and delicious and worth the price. They have standard flavored cupcakes, like chocolate, vanilla and red velvet, but they also have some interesting ones like banana (amazing), pumpkin (also amazing but sadly, seasonal) and the queen mother of all cupcakes, chocolate or otherwise, the Brooklyn Blackout. It changed my life. The other thing I love about this place is that the cupcakes come in multiple sizes, including mini cupcakes that are just as moist and delicious as their larger counterparts, so you don't have to destroy your diet in this place (although you'll totally want to). I know they sell pies too, and I've heard good things about them, but I have yet to sample them myself (I'm a cupcake fiend at heart). It's pretty small inside (so I usually get my goodies to go) but it lends itself to the cozy, homemade and fresh-baked atmosphere of the place. All in all, a total oasis in a giant desert of overpriced mediocrity in the UES bakery scene.

I used to live around the corner from this place. Whenever I had a craving for cupcakes I would go here and boy would it satisfy! The frosting is perfectly sweet, the cake part light and fluffy...love it! Also they have great cappuccinos/lattes etc... Totally worth the price!

If you are a fan of red velvet, look no further, you have to try it @ TLRH! But if you prefer chocolate, then Brooklyn Blackout is a must!! We love that their pastries (especially the cupcakes) are not too sweet, are moist and just yummy! I love their cheesecake and bars, too. You have to try TLRH for a taste of the very best cheesecake and cupcakes in the City!! Be warned: the queue is usually long.

I stumbled across this place last year and decided to try a chocolate chunk cookie with pecans. They're a different experience than Levain Bakery (my all-time favorite), but absolutely delicious. Wonderfully buttery - I believe they use Belgian butter as an ingredient. And very reasonably priced at $1.60 ea. Anyway, went back more recently and tried two different chocolate cupcakes - I was in heaven with both! I'm a baked goods fanatic, and there is no reason to go anywhere else in town. Need to try their pies next!

Two Little Red Hens is my go-to bakery.. the cupcakes are out of this world. Try the Brooklyn Blackout if you are a chocolate person, or the Pumpkin cupcake for something different. They have regular sizes and minis if you just want a small snack. Their cakes (custom and off the shelf) are also wonderful! The servers there are extremely friendly which adds to an already lovely experience :) Two thumbs up!

I have very high standards when it comes to cupcakes. I decided to check this place out because a friend of a friend recommended it. Boy was I happy! I tried the banana bread cupcake, which had banana bread cake with cream cheese frosting. The cake was fresh and flavorful, and the icing was just right - not too light, not too heavy! I will absolutely be back for more!
