chocolate coma
Some say the way to a woman's heart is chocolate. Never has this saying bore more truth than tonight. As I lay in bed from a chocolate induced coma, I realize I am smitten. Not from some handsome debonair ,but from a slice of chocolate cake, 2 red hens brooklyn blackout cake to specific. This cake is so moist, chocolaty, rich, indulgent, creamy and delicious, adjectives don't do it enough justice just try it yourself. Professing my love to the cake with every bite, I went back for seconds and thirds and almost fourths but with tremendous will power stopped my self. 2 little red hens, tonight I have fallen in love, I don't know whether to thank you or curse you for this. ...I surely can't wait to try more :)

My favorite apple pie ever....
I wish they would just sell the cooked apples by themselves, they are so fresh and sweet/tart - soft and yummy without any gloopiness whatsoever. My absolute fave is the apple crumb, but they make it less often. Also make great cupcakes, one of the best sour cream coffee cakes I've had, and other tasty and fresh treats - tarts, bars, cookies, sweet breads (pumpkin ginger!), etc.

Brooklyn Blackout = AMAZING
I am in love with this bakery. Everything is super fresh and delicious and worth the price. They have standard flavored cupcakes, like chocolate, vanilla and red velvet, but they also have some interesting ones like banana (amazing), pumpkin (also amazing but sadly, seasonal) and the queen mother of all cupcakes, chocolate or otherwise, the Brooklyn Blackout. It changed my life. The other thing I love about this place is that the cupcakes come in multiple sizes, including mini cupcakes that are just as moist and delicious as their larger counterparts, so you don't have to destroy your diet in this place (although you'll totally want to). I know they sell pies too, and I've heard good things about them, but I have yet to sample them myself (I'm a cupcake fiend at heart). It's pretty small inside (so I usually get my goodies to go) but it lends itself to the cozy, homemade and fresh-baked atmosphere of the place. All in all, a total oasis in a giant desert of overpriced mediocrity in the UES bakery scene.

These are the Best Cupcakes!
I used to live around the corner from this place. Whenever I had a craving for cupcakes I would go here and boy would it satisfy! The frosting is perfectly sweet, the cake part light and fluffy...love it! Also they have great cappuccinos/lattes etc... Totally worth the price!

Best Cupcakes In NYC!.
If you are a fan of red velvet, look no further, you have to try it @ TLRH! But if you prefer chocolate, then Brooklyn Blackout is a must!! We love that their pastries (especially the cupcakes) are not too sweet, are moist and just yummy! I love their cheesecake and bars, too. You have to try TLRH for a taste of the very best cheesecake and cupcakes in the City!! Be warned: the queue is usually long.
