All Star Bakery
My husband and I came up to NY from MD to visit with my sister-in-law and niece visiting from Belgium. They wanted to experience a good American bakery. My husband did his research and found the Two Red Hens bakery, and what a find it was. We loved EVERYTHING we purchased. Amazing berry scones, carrot/apple muffins, apple pie and yes, a red velvet cupcake as good as our favorite at Georgetown Cupcakes. Thank you for making our visit more memorable than before and confirming for us that it is possible to satisfy a Belgium palate.

The best cheesecake in New York
The best NY style cheesecake in the city. I live in South Jersey near Philadelphia and have to pick a cool day to pick one up. A shame they do not ship, Well worth the trip. Customer oriented!!

Black forest cake wow
I am NOT a chocolate cake lover, but my cousin is and it was his birthday, so... Black Forest Cake was the choice. Seriously, the best chocolate cake ever! Not a good thing to know since TLRH is only a 1/2 a block away from me! Yummy.

Great cakes, not fun to deal with staff.
I have been a loyal follower for several years but it just gets less and less pleasant every time I deal with them. First they stopped making the delicious almond princess cake. Now, they require three FULL days notice for a custom cake, do not custom make the smaller sized cakes and will not put a hold on a premade small cake. All I wanted was a small cake to celebrate my birthday at a nearby restaurant in two days time but after that phone conversation filled with "No" and "We Don't Do That" -- I'll just order the tiramisu and have done with it. What a disappointment!

chocolate coma
Some say the way to a woman's heart is chocolate. Never has this saying bore more truth than tonight. As I lay in bed from a chocolate induced coma, I realize I am smitten. Not from some handsome debonair ,but from a slice of chocolate cake, 2 red hens brooklyn blackout cake to specific. This cake is so moist, chocolaty, rich, indulgent, creamy and delicious, adjectives don't do it enough justice just try it yourself. Professing my love to the cake with every bite, I went back for seconds and thirds and almost fourths but with tremendous will power stopped my self. 2 little red hens, tonight I have fallen in love, I don't know whether to thank you or curse you for this. ...I surely can't wait to try more :)

My favorite apple pie ever....
I wish they would just sell the cooked apples by themselves, they are so fresh and sweet/tart - soft and yummy without any gloopiness whatsoever. My absolute fave is the apple crumb, but they make it less often. Also make great cupcakes, one of the best sour cream coffee cakes I've had, and other tasty and fresh treats - tarts, bars, cookies, sweet breads (pumpkin ginger!), etc.
