Another great night at the Kitchen!

Had a great visit to the kitchen on Easter. Waiters were their usual professional selves, appearing only when needed and satisfying any need immediately. We were served several different appetizers and we were treated to individual samplings by the chief waiter. Always a great experience!

    Great atmosphere, excellent martinis!

I've been here twice, and love the food and the atmosphere. Both times were busy Saturday nights, and even so, we were seated immediately in the upstairs section. The red walls lined with blue candles make the ambiance funky yet inviting. Service was decent, and my only complaint is the slow drink service both times (arrived after the appetizers). Might be a good idea to order a new drink before you finish your old one if you don't want to sit there with an empty glass for 10 minutes. However, the martinis are delicious and a great value for NYC. Had the striped sea bass last night and it was outstanding, fresh and tender with a tangy lemon and olive oil flavoring.

Good food marred by poor service

I had a group dinner here with 12 people on a Saturday night. Reservation was at 6:30, and I was informed when I made it that we would need to be out by 9 PM for another party. Not a problem. However, the waiters completely rushed us through our meal--they would swoop upon half-full plates and pick them up. Some of our party wasn't even done eating when they brought out the dessert plate to us. If we could have left less gratuity (tip included with large parties), we would have done so. The food was excellent, including haydari, sigara boregi, mucver, izgara kofte, and akdeniz cupra tava. However, the service ruined the evening.

I recently went here with a friend for dinner during the week and we had a fantastic experience. We got seated right away on a Wednesday night, our waitress was knowledgeable about all the menu items and even helped us narrow down our dinner choices, and the food was outstanding. We started with a shepard's salad of just tomatoes, onions, cucumbers and a lite dressing, delish! We also had the fried zucchini which was fantastic. The lamb dishes as well as the chicken are equally delightful--you can't seem to go wrong here! I will definitely be going back soon!

    Wait times sometimes

The food is really great, if you want to try Turkish, go here! Sunday brunch is good way to start, but make reservation if you can or go there early. the wait time usually more than an hour if you show up at 12 noon.

    Overall excellent experience

Being an armenian, I'd like to steer clear from turkish restaurants...HOWEVER this is one place i will find hard to resist for my future stays in New York. The food is beyond excellent, the waiters in slow motion.. but hey, who cares...as long as they bring me my food, I don't need to speak about world affairs.

    Tasty Food

I have been here twice with two different groups of people and everyone liked what they ordered. Both times we got the manti which are little dumplings in a thick, garlic yogurt sauce. Delicious! The service was not so great though. The waiter kept making inappropriate comments and also told my friend that she couldn't use the bathroom there as a joke. Not funny.
