Having traveled in Turkey two years ago I was craving Turkish food for a while, and had high expectations. I was not in the least disapointed. The food was amazing from begining to end, and as an added bonus the wine list was great also. Intend to go back soon.

I was scared to come to this place after reading some of the reviews regarding the service. However, I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised when I came to the restaurant. I came at 6:30 and was seated without reservations or the full party being there. The staff was very courteous and friendly. We did wait a very long time for the food, but it was completely worth it, as the food was great. The martinis are nice, so is the Turkish wine. I thought it was great and I'm bringing others back.

Arrived at 7PM and it was already very crowded. Had a bottle of Pinot when we sat and then ordered. Appetizers were the grilled calamari salad which was a huge portion and the beef ravioli in a great yogurt sauce. Main course was the grilled whole sea bass that they poured an olive oil and lemon sauce over. It was very fresh and good. My date had the cubed sirloin which was great as well. Dessert was baklavah which was beyond decadent...just filled with honey. The service and the food make this a place that I look forward to coming back to soon.

Dilemma: nice Sunday brunch (nice, not exceptional), but a true cattle call, non-existent service (EVERYBODY hates the service, and they refuse to improve it), and suffocatingly hot and devoid of oxygen. I suppose one tactic is to get there early, before everybody's brain cells begin to die from oxygen deprivation in the sealed room and they all start to get angry and pushy. Every bit of food there is tasty and fresh, and the four times I've been for brunch, the food has not disappointed. Keep in mind that there are only 2 inches of space between each table, so you may have loud, horrible people next to you. This non-code-compliant table spacing means that even if a waiter were inclined to serve you, he couldn't reach you. But don't worry -- they're not. The place takes in a lot of money because of the nice food, so I'm hoping they'll invest in ventilation equipment.

Recently went for the first time with 2 friends after having heard rave reviews. The atmosphere and decor are inviting yet trendy. The food was very good! Our appetizers were light and refreshing and the main dishes (fish) were perfectly cooked and delicious. Dessert was yummy as well. But everything from getting the menus, to the food to the bill took ages! Maybe it's the New York in me? Would go back for the food in a heartbeat!

Sunday brunch was a herding in of people. Service was pretty much non existing, certainly not worth the 18% gratuity that was add to the bill. The food was good but not worth the Sunday brunch line up at the buffet. Perhaps the place might be worth a visit at other times but not for Sunday brunch.

Turkish kitchen provides a romantic atmosphere that I would definitely take a date to. The food is subpar for those who seek flavor in a dish. The monte was bland and although the drinks are good here, I would not really come back. There are many places nearby in nyc that provide tastier food without the cold stare of the waiters.
