best food
The food here is absolutely awesome. I have gotten really excellent service Definitlely worth a trip for the food, though.

best turkish place in nyc
I have been here about 3 times, and loved it every time. The food is great (and from one of my colleagues who lived in Turkey, their food is very close to authentic) and service is pretty good. I have been there for lunch all the 3 times, and ordered a la carte. The prices were pretty ok. I will go back there again ! P.S. don't miss the dessert item Kadayif: shredded wheat with pistachhio soaked in syrup !!

Good food bad attitude
We are 3 close Turkish friends who visit New York every now and then for a weekend getaway. We have been to Turkish Kitchen at least 5 times. We know how a good delicious Turkish dish should be. I have to say Turkish Kitchen food is one of the closest tastes to real native Turkish food in the US. BUT in recent years this place became very popular and their quality of service went way down. First of all, the host is a not a very nice guy with an "I'm the king of this place" attitude. He is not trying to please you as a customer but test you to see if you are a good enough customer for his restaurant! The waiters/waitresses try to push you to choose things that are convenient for them to bring quickly or easier to enter into their computer system so they can easily handle the billing. They are not very flexible if you want to change the timing of your orders. They almost feel offended if you ask them to bring your main course after you finish your appetizers. They push you to finish as soon as possible so that they can accept more customers. Their tables and chairs are so close to each other that you cannot leave your table without hitting the chair of the neighboring table.

Not graet
The food is just OK--way too expensive though. But the management is amazingly inefficient and not very nice; the staff is generally nice.

Absolutely delicious
Try the stuffed eggplant appetizer - it's incredible. So was everything else we ordered. A great restaurant!

Great atmosphere, great food
The modern red walls and orchids set a romantic mood for a lovely meal. We are Turkish, have been to Turkey and believe that the Turkish Kitchen's grilled whole fish is the best we've ever had in the US.
