Go try it now...
Nice little place you definitely need to try if you are looking to get some aussie food. I went a few weeks ago and was told there would be a new menu, so I bet there are even more choices now. And, it's always a plus when you get served by someone with an accent. HOT!

Tasty, tasty, tasty!
I had checked out the pies after I heard about the great review in the New York Times a while ago and thought they were great. Having stopped by again yesterday, it seems like they've gotten even better! Maybe the recipe has evolved but, God, the nosh was good. They've just started serving coffee, too, and it was one of the best tasting cups of coffee I have ever had in NYC. This place is very laid-back with really good, inexpensive food. I hope this is the first of a chain of Tuck Shops in New York!

Ok, not great
The pastry was awesome, the meat was tasteless. I think they need to improve the quality of the meat they use and work on the gravy. Some of the "plastic bag" pies you can get in NZ taste better than this ...

Go get some tucker!
I am so happy that tuck shop exists. The pies are soooooo good. Sausage rolls are excellent. Can't wait for the jaffles. and they just start delivering. It has made this aussie a very happy little vegemite indeed. Good onya.

Fast, good, comfort food
The sausage rolls rock. They are my new pizza... They are $2.50. They serve them immediately. They are healthier than pizza (well, a little bit anyway). They are much tastier than pizza, honest. They are easier to eat while inebriated. Need I say more? The pies are nice too. My favorite is chicken and leek.

On the spot
I read the review in today's NY Times and hurried on down to see if these guys could get close to the Four n Twenties that I grew up on. Who cares about the Ashes when you can get real Aussie tucker when you're so far from home! The Tuck Shop has got it just right with their meat pies and I'll be back for more. Aussies in NYC -- drown your sorrows on the sangers and lamingtons and any Limeys out there don't doubt that your victory will be short lived!

First timers...and we'll be back!
Chelsea: it is worth a special trip for delicious and unexpected flavor in the 'meat pie'. Eric really loved the veggie but i think the meat wins every time. We agreed on the 'sausage roll' - subtle and Super-Yummy. And we decided we can never have another 'vanilla slice' because it's just too good. Eric: tuck shop...pretty good!
